1. They have to keep us abreast of the news and they couldn't milk the tan mom story any longer.
(sorry. that's what came to me before I realized I would be making bad puns, but there was no turning back.)

With all that's going with women, mothers and children in funding cuts and lack of jobs and day care givers "Time" decides to focus on this woman's total Vanity Display. And, having her child pose in what is a provacative cover that doesn't benefit his life going forward but gives her and TIME a bunch of publicity and eyeballs and mentions all over the web for shock value. The photo makes her son look like an appendage instead of part of the relationship.

Just MHO though.

5. The cover title seemed to be an effort to kick off the Mommy Wars
again. I was watching Bill Press on Current and it seemed to be a rather divisive topic for him, his crew and some of the callers.

For whatever it is worth...I don't care how long a woman breastfeeds a child, but I agree with you about the cover pic. JMHO, too.

I had neighbors tell me with boys 2 and 3, that they thought that I was just holding them close, when I was out in the yard with boy number 1, then 1 and 2. They had no idea that I was nursing one while chasing after either 1 or 2 kids.

And I also agree that this is utter bull$$$$ with the assault on women's rights, the funding cuts, etc., and I think I was 'Mommy Enough"....such asshats. Pffft on Time.

4. If the media keeps milking it, I hope it turns sour on them.
