Well, Mourdock won the primary against Lugar in Indiana...
and the Democrats are ecstatic. They've got a good chance of taking it in November.

Now, the TP's are clucking about their victory, but there wasn't exactly a big turnout. And, there were a lot of registered Dems that requested a Repub ballot. I figure they went about 50/50 on the candidates, so the election should be interesting to watch.

Watching the local news tonight, I cracked up at one of Mourdock's spokespersons. He was trying to convince folks that their clown didn't necessarily represent the Teanuts, even though he parrots most of their talking points, and was happy to accept their endorsements and money. The best part of all was that this guy was dressed up like Paul Revere.

I find it hilarious that these folks just don't get that they are being used.

1. Why do conservatives hate the history of our country so much they have to revise it?
The Revolutionaries sent the conservatives packing to Canada and England.

I hope this means a Democratic victory, as happened in Delaware, but, sadly for us, Mourdock never claimed to hahve been a witch before he gave his heart to Jesus. IOW, he is no Christine O'Donnell.

Still, I am guessing that, while some wil vote strictly along party lines, Mourdock has to be easier to beat with swing voters than Lugar would have been.

Lugar was named not so many years ago by Time as one of the best Senators, because he was willing to, and capable of, bipartisan action. Maybe that was what put the Koch target on his back.

2. Real honest compromise is what this country needs...
And, you are right, that is exactly the reason that Lugar was targeted. I found him more palatable than the Dino Evan Bayh.
