3. Both of my SiameseI have now departed to KITTEH HEAVEN...
Edited on Mon May-07-12 06:35 PM by KoKo
I haven't gotten over it...and I don't talk about it.

I have a Burmese/Siamese cross with a Persian/Racoon now. She's quite placid and lovely to put in the car and travel with..

but, I will never get over the death of my "best friends"....My Inquisitive, Curious, Talkative, Inquiring Minded Siamese that I've lived with for 30 years.

I miss them so much..

My goal is to learn to live with my "passive" ...nothing ever bothers her...Burmese/Persian Mix and given my sometimes "hyper-personality" ...I find I love her as I get older ...but, I just miss the TALK of my friends of those year's past.

Whatever...She's a Cutie and you wouldn't believe the Disfunctional HOME (HA!) that I RESCUED HER FROM.

She's good for our time in life...she travels well in the car...and she only "TALKS BACK" when it's just an HORRENDOUS SITUATION for her.

So I'm good with my cutie. .. but ...I will never get over the death of my Siamese. :-( they sustained me through the good times and the BAD TIMES...most of all.

4. It's sad...
I have lost two of the sweetest kitties in the last six months. Both of them rescues, turned out to be lap kitties that loved to be made over. One was FIV+, the other FELV+. Most likely came to me that way. Their disease got the best of them, and it was time to let them go.

I've got nine others I take care of now. Three wild ones, and the others are in various degrees of tameness(?). Even after 12 years, a couple of them refuse to be held.

I miss Stumpy and Baby.

5. Yeah...in these times our animals often are more comfort than Relatives or Friends...
the Political Divides are so Strong that battles break out.

To our "animal companions" ..politics isn't their priorities...and that's what is so special ...about our interaction with our animal kingdom. To me, at least. A friend who is a friend...but, then...it's sometimes because of "interdependence" ...and that gets into what we are doing in foreign contries...trying to make THEM DEPENDENT on our MILITARY POWER for FOOD AND AID...like we do ...with our "pets."

BUT...STILL...those we rescued are ours forever.

And in the ANIMAL KINGDOM...they have been better friends to me...than many others have been...and, I've NEVER BEEN BETRAYED...by ANY of them...Never...

6. I miss Picasso and Roscoe, my two biggest babies with personalities to match
25+ pound Roscoe lived to be nearly 19, 20+ pound Picasso almost 14. BOTH were adopted.

I have four (all small ), my sweetie has four (one MONSTER 20+ pounder) plus 'our' dogs, and I take care of 8+ ferals outside who some mornings wait by my door for breakfast. The alpha female of the group just this weekend stopped so I could pet her. That only took four years.

I miss having big dogs but my life would be worthless without cats.

but the Kitteh's took over my heart and just won't let go. Nor me with them. Mine have all lived very long lives. My first Siamese lived to be 23 years old! Can you believe. He was in personality, David Niven. (He was a Male)...He was the elegance and sporting of Niven in those old movies on TCM.

He was ...and always will be the SPECIAL.. But the two Prankster Siamese "KoKo and Yum Yum" (named after Siamese in a Mystery Series) were also very special (15 and 18). Commedians and East Coast Travelers. But...NOT happy travelers in their "carrier" in the back of the Mini-Van ...but, they made the very best of it..including trashing a place we stayed on vacation where the owner had a lovely "Vine Decoration" on top of her kitchen cabinets...and in the night...the Unhappy Duo decided to jump up (remember...SIAMESE are JUMPERS) and they colluded together and managed to rip the whole decoration off the top of high kitchen cabinets in this vacation place...but never tipped the Ceramic Urns and some cute other stuff the owners of the rental had embedded between the vines! How they could do that...I will never know.

How they managed that one ...I'll never know...but they were STEALTH KITTEH's. And were amazing in the stuff they managed to do to show disapproval for hours spent in the car in their carrier...but not "totally trash the place." :D

DISCREET!

I miss them both...terrible..

8. Hugs to you and Koko...
and I mean that. I still haven't gotten over a male cat that we had, Nosy, who allowed a few cats onto his turf, including the female that we have now, HAC, that female, isn't quite as accommodating, so we'll have to wait unless she'll accept a kitten...signs aren't good that she will, but we haven't lost any pet friends recently.

Big  to you both.

9. He didn't die, he was murdered
Murdered by the idiots who overfed that poor, sweet kitty until it was too late for him to be helped by the caring people who tried so hard to save him.

R.I.P. sweet Meow.

10. Well he has a giant head like our Nuggett
and Nuggett can stand on his hind legs and look over the counter in the kitchen.......he weighs 25 pounds but is simply huge.

I think he was a huge cat ans his original owner didn't understand how to take care of him.
