RWers are claiming that media describing Zimmerman as a white Hispanic is heinous and racist
Maybe. Or maybe they are, as usual, protecting their most reliable voters. (No offense to any white male Democrats--or any Democrats--intended.)
Thing is, anyone can discriminate on the basis of skin color. Infamously, African Americans have discriminated against darker-skinned African Americans.
So, I don't know how far afield it really is to suggest that a white Hispanic might be more suspicious of a darker person than a darker Hispanic might be. After all, it was his white pappy who suggested he is Hispanic and therefore is NOT racist.
Point is, the man made about 50 calls to 911, often identifying people he thought were suspicious as "African American male". Even a "skinny" African American male about 7 to 9 years old.
Yes, you read correctly (and, for once, I even typed correctly): an African American male, about 7 to 9 years of age. And skinny in the bargain.

“The Latino community joins the African-American community and other communities in condemning George Zimmerman as what he is – a murderer and a racist,” Roberto Lovato, co-founder of the online Latino advocacy organization Presente.org, told The Daily Caller.
The group is acting on Trayvon’s behalf. Presente.org has joined with Color of Change to petition for the arrest of Martin’s murderer.
“Todos somos Trayvon! (We are all Trayvon!),” Presente.org wrote, urging supporters to sign the petition. The group also has a petition to condemn Geraldo Rivera for blaming Martin’s hoodie for his death. According to Lovato, the petition currently has 18,000 signatures.
La Raza has rallied for Martin with the civil rights community as well.
