Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Reportedly Charged In Prostitution Probe
LILLE, France -- Dominique Strauss-Kahn was handed preliminary charges Monday alleging he was involved in a French prostitution ring, his lawyer said. The former International Monetary Fund chief is denying wrongdoing.

It was a stunning blow on the home front for Strauss-Kahn, a onetime French presidential hopeful whose sexual behavior has been in the international spotlight over the past year.

The French charges come two days before a New York court takes up a civil case in which a hotel maid accuses Strauss-Kahn of sexually assaulting her.

In the northern French city of Lille on Monday, investigating judges summoned Strauss-Kahn for questioning and held him for about eight hours. Afterward, Strauss-Kahn left in black sedan without speaking publicly.cont

1. He had many supporters who felt he was unfairly "entrapped" in NYC

so that he wouldn't run against Sarkozy. But, then the evidence always seemed to be that he had done "something" worth an investigation with the maid.

Then there was the "Prostitution Angle" if the raping of the maid in NYC didn't work out and he got off.

This is a tough one.

Obviously he had many "Friends" who were High Up and Wired In to the Global Establishment who wanted to protect him. That doesn't mean, though, that he wasn't a rapist of a Hotel Maid or involved in Prostitution Ring.

We have seen many folks who got to "big for their britches" (literally in his case if accusations are true) and thought their Powerful Friends in High Places would protect their "perversions."

Who knows with this one. It's interesting to see how it plays out.
