Pepsi mulls 4,000 job cuts: report
Source: Reuters

PepsiCo Inc (PEP.N) is considering cutting about 4,000 jobs and reducing pension contributions in order to boost its earnings, the New York Post said, citing sources close to the situation.

Pepsi currently offers a pension plan and a scheme where it matches contributions to 401(k) retirement savings accounts, and believes offering both is more generous than its peers, a source told the Post.

Eliminating the 401(k) match would save Pepsi $75 million, according to the newspaper.

2. where is Pepsi going with its sugar water, anyway, as people want healthy drinks?
I don't drink that stuff. Bad water mixed with sugar and artificial flavors, not my thing.

3. What? I thought the "Emerging Markets" were going to do Growth with Pepsi/Coke/Starbucks/
KFC/MICKEY D's/WALMart" and DISNEY WORLD!

I thought "Emerging Markets were going to "Go Wild" for all our Coke/Pepsi Products...Chips/Fast Food and the Rest!

WHAT? Things are NOT going as well as expected in those Emerging Peasant Markets where you give a poor worker a "half cent" so he can trade up to Pepsi and their Products and get his kids hooked on Soft Drinks so they can get Diabetes which will then allow our Drug Companies to come in and Save the Day so that we can Give American/US/World AID to the Emerging Markets with "Health Incentives to Big Pharma" (with Tax Breaks from American's Pocketbooks) to pay for the Health Care of those we Hooked on Pepsi/Coke and their Fast Food Brands? Don't forget the DENTAL CARE...from SUGARY DRINKS...Big MONEY THERE! :grr:
