4. It is very, very, very left and that's why I left.
I've not been happy with all that Obama has done and have been disappointed with him at times, but left underground is flat out anti-Obama. I feel sorry for anyone who remains there and supports the president in any way because they would be like sheep among wolves.

I have never voted for a Republican nor done anything to get an actual Republican elected and refusing to vote for Obama would help the Republican. That's a simple reality yet those who are lost in their own fantasyland cannot seem to deal with the imperfect choices the real world presents us.

The Tea Party looks in their mirror and believes that they see America reflected, that the rest of this nation thinks as they do and all they need to do is to nominate one of theirs and that candidate will be magically elected. The far, far left is the same, yet neither extreme can see things for what they are.

9. "It's very very very left."
Edited on Sun Dec-18-11 12:14 PM by Puglover
Be afraid, be very afraid.

Thank GOD you have your hand on the pulse of reality so the rest of us can be balanced. :eyes:

Edited to add the correct amount of "very"s to ramp up the fear.

10. It is very, very, very left?
Edited on Sun Dec-18-11 12:46 PM by Enthusiast
One can be a clear thinking centrist and also be anti-Obama.

One only needs to have a look at the facts.

The facts surrounding financial malfeasance from 2000 to 2008.

The fact that the criminals have gone univestigated and unpunished and even rewarded for their fraud.

It isn't a far far left characteristic to believe in the rule of law.

Far far far left is communism. I think most of the people on the leftunderground would just be happy to have laws that were equally and fairly applied. And we believe in social justice -like OWS. That really isn't very, very, very, left. It used to be a very centrist concept in the U.S.A.

24. Very, very, very 'left' these days is
expecting that what we were all told regarding this country, that no one is above the law, actually applied. It's a concept that disappeared the minute this president stated there would be no investigations of war crimes.

Immediately after that anyone who thought that there was a system of justice in this country, became 'very, very, very 'left'.

Since the right, at least during the Bush era, believed that the law should be applied selectively, never to those they supported, I doubt the two would ever meet.

Unless, the not so 'very, very, very, 'left' now agrees with them. Which appears to be the case. So, maybe you are right after all.

I really don't see it as all that far to the "left", although it is definitely "left" of DU.

27. Pretty much everything (short of FR and the like) is left of DU these days
Given how the Democratic party has lurched so far to the right, and how much DU3 expects people to tow the Party Line.

18. How about something in between the 2 extremes? That would be a place to go.
Left Underground is just fine for those who agree with its prevailing viewpoint and are comfortable being part of that group. I am not. That's no reason to label those who do not want to be there as "corporate loving DLC types".

19. They allow freepers to post there also, so it's not THAT far left.
Everyone gets a voice and NO ONE is Tombstoned. There is no "JURY" to deal with. There are no Hosts to deal with. You're pretty much free to say what's on your mind. There are no BOG jumping down your throat. It's definitely NOT an Obama lovefest. THANK GAWD.

I didn't get the feeling of far left at all. Though there are Progressive/Liberal/Left-Wingers who do post there, but so do freepers.:puke: I had a lovely (NOT) Freeper respond to one of my posts. The usual crap you get from them. :( That's the one downside I've found there...but it's better an occasional freeper than a daily barrage of BOG.

21. You say "very, very left" like that's a bad thing.
Been there, have lurked a lot, and mostly like what I see -- except for the one thing that stops me cold: the presence of Ron Paulites. I don't want to mix it up with Paulites. That's not "left" at all -- to cling to Paul because he's not mainstream is half-baked non-thinking. Paul is a raging homophobes, and I no longer have the endurance to make that clear to anyone already convinced he's a viable alternative to anyone or anything.

28. Lots of branch off people who are disenchanted with DU, good luck
to them, they got a surge of new people who would return to DU eventually. None of those sites including OET will draw DUers who are interested in a vibrant and progressive site.

Just my observaton!
