4. I have been there, just served on a jury, as a matter of fact.
It was actually kind of fun, and not unlike what I've done here, read through the post and decide if it breaks a rule, if any.
Most of the mods are still here on a daily basis, certainly because of loyalty, partly because of habit, LOL, but mostly because we've loved this place and still want to feel useful and make sure it remains a safe and friendly place while it's still here.
And thank you for your positive post. It's most appreciated...
13. Actually, most of us are still here, almost all of us, LOL.
I'm not sure if it's loyalty, or habit, but it's hard for us to leave, too. Almost all of us are long-timers and many of the others are long-time mods. I think we feel we have an obligation to this place, so we're here for as long as it lasts. We've been fairly laid back about things, just trying to keep things going smoothly and seeing that nobody gets hurt...
16. Well, we're also long time members, most of us.
And we've invested a lot on this place. For me, I volunteered to be a mod because I wanted to give something back, since DU has always been here for me. So it is hard to just walk away. I think we feel that DU still needs us, especially now.
WWW and I have an 8 YO Golden and the littlest cat in the world (<2.5 lbs I reckon)...only about 12 weeks, but we think she fully grown, her sibs are...she's 1/2 their size. I'm posting now because she's been rolling a golf ball around the floor for the last 1/2 hr and finally had to get up and take it away from her. A real trouble maker, this one.
I've previously adopted older dogs, but Jackie found me at five months. Now I know why I adopted older dogs... Just kidding. I'm hoping to have him for the next 20 years. I've had two dogs that lived past 18.
I love Goldens. They're not only beautiful dogs, but extremely intelligent. My guys seem to find me...
As for your cat, yikes! That is very small! She sounds adorable, and very lucky to have found you...
And I know about trouble makers, LOL. I used to have one, but now they've taken to double teaming me. One walks on my keyboard while the other one knocks things off the top of the television. Anything to force me to get up, which means I have to get them treats.
Here are Huck and Tommy. They're brothers. Tom is the keyboard cat, LOL. I think he's determined to post on DU...
I don't know if it's the heat being generated from the CPU or their desire to be front and center when you're focused on the screen, but every cat we've had seems to find that a spot sit or lie down on. We had one cat that would pop the keys off....guess he found the "S" key objectionable.
