I've been wondering why all those Republican Presidential candidates stopped telling us that God told them to run.

Someone should ask them about that. Did God tell them to stop using his name in vain?

Well I'm not sure about them, but many times when God "speak" to me, it is not always what I want to hear, rather the opposite... But then, I'm just an ordinary guy, who never want a high office... And also learned well to not use Gods name in everything and nothing..

And I also have always been rather supectius about politicians who play that ball, and try to tell that God let them to go for office. To me this is just bullshit, and a outright lie.. Or that the fellow is mentally unstable, and should have no place near the US government...

But, thats just me...

and tells you things you don't want to hear? Are you sure it isn't just your conscience?

15. I'm with you on this one, Diocletian.
It's not always what I want to hear -- like slow down, you idiot, you are making yourself sick or you are headed for an accident.

Or like, you don't always have to say everything you think.

Or like, stop being so bossy. You don't know what you are talking about.

God is always putting me down.

Doesn't always tell me what I want to hear -- not at all.

And that voice is my own still, small voice reminding me that I am just a tiny little creature in a big, big universe.

But then, you have to have your receiver tuned into the right frequency to get God's messages, and I think some of these politicians turned off their receivers long ago. They are too busy emitting their noise to ever listen to the voice of God.

I'm serious.

Hope I'm not offending the atheists on DU, but surely you get my gist, don't you?

5. With religion, IMO, people hear what they want to hear. When someone tells

me god speaks to them, I view that with suspicion, especially when told to run for pres.

Now, if someone got up and said a UFO alien told them to run for pres., they would sink instantaneously in likability.

6. Someone should ask Cain if God told him to drop out
If God told him to run, you'd think God would have also told him when to quit.

7. If it's always what you want to here, it's probably not God.
I think there's a diagnosis for hearing voices in your head that no one else can here.

14. Often overheard in heaven.... "I sent that flood, earthquake, tsunami,
etc, but three people survived and everyone is saying I was with them...". Strange stuff that.

17. Yeah. Thanks to God I survived while dozens didn't
Me being nothing different from others, except to being one of God's favorites for some unknown reason.
