Christian Right flips over Obama's fascist oppression... to stop imprisonment, execution of gays
Secretary Hillary Clintons speech on defending LGBT rights abroad and the new Obama administration policy to protect people around the world who are jailed, beaten and executed for being LGBT have been met with intense uproar from the Religious Right.

"This country cannot continue to violate Gods principles and to make a mockery of His laws and think were going to get away with it. And when the blow comes, its going to be horrible."
- Pat Robertson

The inmates have taken over the asylum.
- Vic Eliason of Voice of Christian Youth America

Radical sexual anarchist agenda.
- Mat Staver, Liberty Council

And the best for last... "So what if other countries put people in prison for creating pro-gay organizations, it's not like they're killing them, right? We're the bad guys for refusing them aid because of it!" Yeah, really.

"Its crazy. Theyre saying its all homophobia in Nigeria, according to the law I guess in Nigeria not only is gay marriage a crime punishable by a fourteen year jail term but any person who registers, operates or participates in gay organizations faces a decade in jail, a clause that specifically targets the many active sexuality-rights advocacy groups in the country. Alright, but theyre not killing them are they? Are they going to go to jail?"

Making the Christian Right throw a temper tantrum, always a sign that you are doing the right thing.

1. This is my favorite part:
Today, I want to talk about the work we have left to do to protect one group of people whose human rights are still denied in too many parts of the world today. In many ways, they are an invisible minority. They are arrested, beaten, terrorized, even executed. Many are treated with contempt and violence by their fellow citizens while authorities empowered to protect them look the other way or, too often, even join in the abuse. They are denied opportunities to work and learn, driven from their homes and countries, and forced to suppress or deny who they are to protect themselves from harm. I am talking about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people, human beings born free and given bestowed equality and dignity, who have a right to claim that, which is now one of the remaining human rights challenges of our time

4. I was very pleased when Pres O ordered U.S. diplomats to fight LGBT discrimination abroad.
This is a good use of throwing the US's weight around.

Obama orders U.S. diplomats to increase efforts to fight LGBT discrimination abroad

By Scott Wilson
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/44/post/obama-order...

President Obama ordered U.S. diplomatic missions and federal agencies working abroad to strengthen efforts to fight international discrimination against gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgender individuals, saying he is deeply concerned by the violence against them in many parts of the world.

The memo, immediately celebrated by gay and lesbian leaders, elevates the importance of combating discrimination against the LGBT community within Obamas foreign policy. The issue is an important one to a key element of Obamas political base, and the move strengthens the argument he is building that he has done more to end the ostracism experienced by the LGBT community, at home and abroad, than his predecessors.

The memo directs all agencies engaged abroad to ensure that U.S. diplomacy and foreign assistance promote and protect the human rights of LGBT persons.

Specifically, the directive orders those agencies to step up efforts to combat the criminalization of homosexuality in other countries, protect LGBT refugees and asylum seekers, work with foreign governments, human rights organizations and other groups to promote LGBT equality, and create a standing group within the State Department to ensure the government reacts quickly to threats to the rights of gays and lesbians.

7. The Christian Right is the greatest enemy the world has ever had.

Nothing comes closer to the definition of 'Devil' than they do.

We should be fighting a war against them, not letting them run our government.

11. Agreed.
But in this country there's only one basic faith whose fundamentalists have a chance of ruling us.

14. Fundentalism, the authority worship, and attendant abuses and discriminations
Are not the sole realm of religions. Although it does make them easier to spot.
