Nonstop campaigning has begun in Walker recall
Source: Milwaukee JournalSentinel

Welcome to the era of nonstop campaigning.

Gov. Scott Walker and his allies have already spent about $3 million in six media markets so they can air TV ads touting Walker's budget proposals and dissing the recall efforts.

"Oh, boy, they've been flooding the airwaves out here," said University of Wisconsin-Green Bay political science professor Michael Kraft. "On the channels we watch, there are four to six for Walker every evening. I've seen just a couple of the anti-Walker ones."

Rest assured, more is on the way.

"According to figures collected from TV stations, Walker's campaign has bought nearly $1.7 million worth of airtime between Nov. 14 and Dec. 11."

4. This is a regressive tax upon evil.
How can Republicans expect to drive the people into poverty and lower their quality of life when they are shackled by expensive consequences for their actions? What if they don't have enough money to steal the next election? What would Jesus' Chief Financial Officer do?

5. Meg Whitmanesque
I hope the recall effort has learned much from Jerry Brown's brilliant campaign in 2008. He let Whitman blow tons of money early, just tons. He waited. He waited. Then he came in at the end and neutralized a good $90 million of her dollars.

Of course, the dynamics of the race are different. The Walkerites are spending all this money now to slow down the petition drive. This tells us something important: they think that if the recall petitions make the limit, that Walker is doomed. Otherwise, they'd be holding fire to see if the petitions come through at all.
