It's not a done deal that Herman Cain will bow out. He may have slowed down, but he's not out. At least two accusations of sexual harassment and one accusation of a thirteen-year affair.
Calista Gingrich got her start in the back of a van, rocking, in an otherwise empty Congressional parking lot while Newt was married to his second wife* and she's now being touted as classic First Lady material. Republicans seemingly have overlooked and/or forgiven Newt for not one, but two marriages that ended with divorce.
Gary Hart, John Edwards, John Jenrette (Democratic Whip), Eliot Spitzer, Anthony Wiener, Gary Condit all were compelled to relinquish their political careers based allegations of sexual impropriety. And Cain and Gringrich are still raising money, accepting standing ovations, and running for the highest office in this country.
* During Newt's rock-and-roll period, he was hounding President Clinton with impeachment for sexual impropriety.
