1. Agreed. The Washington Post has a Style Section article on Santorum
and how he is making so many sacrifices to raise a special needs child. The amount of martyrdom Santorum credits himself with is pretty puke-worthy.

23. The same goes for Michele Bachmann. She has raised 5 kids of her own
and ZILLIONS of foster children. I suppose that makes them suitable for office. :puke::puke:

4. I can't stand Santorum, but going after a candidate's kids is kind of a cheap shot.
Chelsea Clinton went through an awkward stage too, and it was disgusting how the repukes made fun of her. I don't think we should descend to this kind of attack.

7. I don't think anyone was going after them.
The kids just looked way too stressed out.

22. It's going after the parents
Because they have stressed out kids. Seems it could have to do with the parenting.

8. DIdn't Santorum take home a miscarried fetus to show his
kids so they could "bond" with their sibling?

16. That's what I heard.
I think it was so they could say goodbye.

So when one of them goes off the deep end, you'll know why.

10. I believe that a candidate's kids are, and should be,...
...off limits and out of bounds. This photo makes that tough but I'll stick to my beliefs.

Daddy is a joke that writes itself anyway!

PEACE!

12. Is it out of bounds to say that you feel sorry for them?
That picture really does make me sad.

27. No, and I quite agree with you.
I just won't make fun of them or make nasty remarks about them.

Several snarky things came to mind but I kept them to myself.

Thank you for giving me the chance to clarify.

PEACE!

11. I feel sorry for those children
Based upon that picture. The glassy, distant look in their eyes is pretty sad.

In the spirit of not attacking the children, however, that's about all I'll say.

19. Rick Santorum and his wife and the ones who showed a lack of class by making those sad kids
stand on that stage with them.

It's very typical of him.

Obama's, not the one clutching the doll.

18. Rick Santorum is the one who made the choice to put that crying child front and center.
I personally feel sorry for her, in more ways than one.

If his daughter was that upset, Santorum and his wife should NOT have made her go on that stage.

HE is the one responsible for this image.

21. Bullshit.
Yeah, right, the OP was posted with concern for the kid. That's why it was the worst possible photo versus the best possible photo put side by side to display the difference in the families' attractiveness, and using that as the reason to retain Obama as president.

Look, you're all free to judge people on looks, but don't bullshit me about it. You wanna be shallow, be shallow, but don't turn around and tell me that isn't it.

25. "Rick Santorum Barnstorms Iowa with 7 Kids in 2 Minivans"
http://www.huliq.com/10061/rick-santorum-barnstorms-iowa-7-kids-2-minivans

So yes, let's talk about shallow.

Santorum made the decision to make his children a centerpiece of his campaigns. If you put your child out in a driving rainstorm without a raincoat on---and they happen to get wet---do you blame the rain or do you blame yourself?

There is no place in this thread where I spoke about the "looks" or "attractiveness" of anyone's children. In fact, I stated my sorrow for Rick's childrens' plight.

So, your assumption that I'm judging anyone on their looks is bullshit. KIndly do not put words in mouth.

My point has been that Rick Santorum and his wife made these decisions about their childrens' lives, and the children are the ones paying the price for it.

Santorum needs to take responsibility for his own actions...but he never does.

20. Look, I hate Santorum
And my vote against him in 2006 was the second-happiest vote I've ever cast. But you're basically mocking an 8-year-old child, up past her bedtime, who is reacting to her father losing the only job (and career) she's ever known him to have. I'm sure you also know full well that a photo taken at the right angle, at the right (in)opportune moment, can make anyone look bad. Let's leave the kid(s) alone.
