My reply to troll in response to Newt DID not leave wife in hospital;
Matt Lauer interviews Newt Gingrich

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-v2y-OXJgBQ&feature=email&email=comment_reply_received

First, his post;

"The story about Newt asking his wife for a divorce while she was recovering from cancer is a LIE.

She never had cancer.

She had asked him for a divorce months before she went to the hospital to have a benign tumor removed."
Reggie1971 1 day ago

My initial repost;

"@Reggie1971 Newsweek, The Des Moines Register, Salon.com and one of your favorites, Forbes, ALL confirm that The Newt did indeed tell his first wife he wanted a divorce from her WHILE she was in the hospital recovering from cancer. The only news source that is reporting that this is not accurate is a right wing slime site; Free Republic. Even then, there is no news reported. It is only by a poster who MISTAKENLY quotes an article in the Boston Herald."

His come back;

"@greiner3 Free Republic is not the only news source reporting the story. Do an internet search. Again, the story is false. Gingrich's daughter confirms the story to be false."

I ran out of room and had to post 6 times to get all I wanted to say;

"@Reggie1971 Dude, first of all, telling your wife you want a divorce while she is in the hospital, even for having a cyst removed, is skanky. The incident that Newt's daughter is now 'trying to set the record straight, is from 1980. If she were that concerned she would have spoken, maybe 2 decades prior to this. Also, Newt's first wife, the one all this bruhaha has been about, DID make a statement confirming he did do this dastardly thing, just as has been reported. PART I."

"@Reggie1971 PART 2. While Newt was making such a fuss, and impeaching Clinton for his 'dress' episode, he was having the affair with future wife #2: Enough said. Now to respond to your 'Do an internet source." I did a perfunctory search for my first reply. I have done a better one and have found that ALL the major news sources HAVE confirmed Newt's oft reported 'telling wife he wanted a divorce while she was in said hospital recovering from cancer. PART 2"

"@Reggie1971 PART 3 Now I'll list the 'pro' sources. Outsidethe beltway, Salon, The Hill, CBS, The Atlanticwire, TheDailyBeast, HuffingtonPost, Sodahead, Dailymail, About, PoliticsDaliy, WashingtonMonthly, Evangelicalsitt, FOXNEWS (2007 article), Newsweek, Forbes, MercuryNews. These are recent articles all confirming the story. There are several sources that date back a decade and more. I'll list those in; PART 4. Don't worry, I'll get to YOUR sources."

"@Reggie1971 PART 4 Many of the following contain interviews of wife $1 who stated publicly her version that Newt did in fact tell her he wanted a divorce while she was in the hospital recovering from cancer. PittsburgPostGazette (1999), WashingtonPost (1999), NewYorkPost (1999)(FOX Owned) and many other lesser papers of the time. Now I'll list the sources from your point of view in PART 5."

"@Reggie1971 POST 5. Sources backing your version; Godlikeproductions, OutsidetheBeltway, HotAir, News.Yahoo, Mediaite, Genevieth, Creators, TheAtlanticWire, NeoNeocon and Examiner. For the old news; I CANNOT FIND ANY DATING TO EVEN 2 MONTHS AGO.

I omitted any sources from blogs as they are personal opinions. I also omitted sources from Twitter and Facebook accounts. All the above sources refute the claim from one interview Newt's daughter gave. I will discuss this fact in POST 6."

@Reggie1971 POST 6. "In searching for the above said interview, I found out that Newt's daughter wrote an article disputing the facts. is the URL from Townhall. Jackie, the daughter, disputes every claim her mother publicly made just after the incident. I for one would like to see Jackie interviewed by a press corps that is open to all news media. Let me know if you find any other source. Peace"

I'm waiting for his response. Granted, this video was posted 6 months ago and has a whopping 717 views. But I just wanted to get my opinion out there. Besides, Reggie1971 originally posted yesterday.

1. Even if it's a fact that Newt's daughter denied the divorce/cancer/hospital story
about her mother, she has a strong motivation: disinheritance if she didn't.

2. His whole world will be shattered ...

... when he finds out about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

3. An Xtranormal cartoon is probably not the best primary source :)
This article has a few sources of info on Newt's request to divorce his wife Jackie while she was in her hospital bed recovering from cancer:

The guy is an absolute pig.
