Sen. Bob Corker jeered at GM plant ceremony in Spring Hill, Tenn.
SPRING HILL, Tenn. -- Autoworkers' joy at getting vehicle production back online at General Motors' Spring Hill plant has done little to quell their disdain for Republican U.S. Sen. Bob Corker.

Corker was a leading critic of the federal government rescue of automakers in 2009 and pushed for wage and benefit concessions from the UAW. Many Spring Hill workers said they felt Corker's stance did little to keep the plant from being idled that year.

The senator was booed and heckled by the audience when he spoke at a ceremony Monday to announce that the plant outside Nashville will begin making vehicles again next year. Corker listened to 20 seconds of jeers after his introduction in the plant's manufacturing hall.

"I see the saga continues," Corker told the crowd. "I think everyone knows that we've had our differences in the past. And I can tell today that that's fine with you, and it's fine with me."

1. I'm surprised Corker had the nerve to show up. What an asshole.
Typical for a GOPher, though. Claim credit for something you obstructed.

5. why did the UAW local even allow him to enter the plant? Or even the
plant manager, who's job he probably owes to Obama who restructured the GM loan.

2. I already told senator and congressman republicans I would not vote for them the next time around.
Well I didn't vote for any republican.

3. "and it's fine with me" because it's corporate money that keeps him elected.

4. Gotta love it. He says, "we've had our differences" instead of
"If I had my way, all you people would be on the employment roles. But hey, I hope you don't mind if I come her for a photo-op for my re-election". These right wingers are shameless.

7. I could care less about job-thieving Tennesseans.
they stole those jobs from hard-working Michiganders, so fuck them and their discomfort with the Corker guy they voted for.
