I'm grateful for the sacrifices the fine young men and women make to ensure others can be safe and secure. I'm also grateful to their families who have to be apart from them.

1. really, that commercial doesn't do it for me but at least
its not as cheesy and nauseating as some of the other military commercials I've seen.

One of the worst ones is these military guys are walking through an airport, and all of a sudden the civilians, in a spontaneous chain reaction, slowly start clapping until everyone starts joining in.

UGH

4. My brother is a highly decorated Marine
and you would be surprised at the folks that do that when he is in full dress.

He and his wife went to the Marine Corps Ball in his fancy dress blues and had to stop and get gas on the way, lol, and he said he was ushered to the front of the line and people were shaking his hand.

And yeah...after his several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, even though I don't support the war, I absolutely support the people fighting them.

2. Our best friends son is home from his 3rd or 4th tour of Iraq......
Haven't seen him yet but I really look forward to it. They are exceptional young people.
