8. Watching Norquist talk about his "pledge" reminds me of what Mark Twain once said
"A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes."

11. who in the hell made this guy Satan?

I mean, really.

He's a worthless bag of greed and self-aggrandizement.

And he bought and paid for Dejarlais, who will help destroy lives in TN.

Norquist loves death and poverty and misery, and smiles while loving it, as if it just thrills him to think of the suffering poor he he has crushed under his fancy shoes.

2. I believe that pledge is Treason under the constitution.
And the oath these fuckers take when taking office.

YMMV.

3. Oath of office specifies "without any mental reservation"
“I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

4. Evidently the people who take Grover's pledge
rank it higher than their oath of office. Unbelievable.

5. The entire Republican Party signed up for a lobotomy...hollow minds, hollow souls...
And Norquist (funded by....well we can guess) was just the quack to sell it.

6. I cannot believe the lack of response to this revelation
You would think the American people would be out in the streets demanding a trial for treason. How can one man dictate policy to a majority of the U.S. Congress ? Especially in a national emergency.

I seriously doubt that most Americans who vote Republican can be fully aware of the ramifications of this insanity. They may be a little disagreeable, but not many are traitors.

14. The fact that ONE GUY - unelected - thinks he has the right to dictate the direction of the country
and is able to actually DO IT - is very, very troubling to me. i agree with you and the posts that say people should demand an investigation - or take to the streets - to protest the insane amount of power this one right wing fucktard had. between him and Karl Rove - no wonder the country is in such sad shape these days.

17. Not at all. I wish we could spread this to anybody who would listen.
It's very rare you get a chance to personify an evil doctrine into one person's image. But Norquist has made that possible for us.

Let's not let the opportunity escape. Good luck.

10. Questionably The Most Important Yard Gnome In History doesn't seem to get . . .
. . . that what he wants is simply not feasible. It cannot happen. This country is nearing 15 trillion in debt. Where does that money come from if hiring is weak and you keep blowing money on Pentagon follies and Wealthy People's Needs?

13. They did not ask if a bathtub sized government could afford a military.
Once the cowardly conservatives realize he's cutting too much, they'll cut him up and eat him for breakfast. Unfortunately, they're idiots who cannot see out of both eyes at the same time.
