No Batons, No Pepper Spray... But This Picture Just Kicked My Ass...

I don't exactly know why... the moment of truth... the moment of really testing your resolve... something...

15. what makes you think he's old?
You can tell his age by looking at him from the waist down? I think not. And they all look fat wearing all that protective riot gear stuff.

24. If he's young and has that big a gut, he's in the serious hurt locker.
You've got to figure he had to get through the police academy...they usually have weight/fitness standards there and you don't pass if you can't run a fairly challenging course.

And it's one thing to look 'bulky' in a vest, but look at that guy--that's a gut. He's been hitting the donut shop every morning.

29. have you failed to notice the young overweight cops everywhere?
They're all over the place. And that overly emphasized gut hardly precludes him from passing a physical test anymore than a woman with a big butt would be precluded from passing one. Not only that, gaining that weight could have taken only a few months or a year... since when does it take anyone the bulk of their entire career until they're "old" to develop a gut?

In your zeal to disparage this officer who for all you know may have been giving comfort to the girl in that photo you turned to disparaging older people and overweight people. Big OLD FAT fail.

I'm totally in favor of slinging mud at those officers that are blatantly deserving of it. Doing it to this one who is doing NOTHING in that photo worthy of mud slinging (unless you believe wearing the uniform is worthy) is stupid. It is especially stupid seeing as there is NO WAY we can EVER win this fight without getting the police on our side and then the military. History proves it. The ONLY way we will EVER succeed against the power of the 1% is to encourage the police and then the military to break ranks and join us. Disparaging every officer for nothing more than being one is exactly how to go about keeping that from happening. Put down your hatred of every police officer in the country so you can see the big picture otherwise all you're doing is sabotaging any success for us 99%ers and without even realizing it or realizing it far too late.

31. No, not really. The young ones are slim, the middle aged ones are beefier, to some extent,
and the old ones, save the naturally thin types, are fat. In my area, the police take physical fitness tests and have some semblance of weight standards, at least in their younger years.

You clearly have an agenda and some issues. ZEAL? DISPARAGE? Such fucking drama in your words. Don't read into my posts more than is there. I was responding to someone OTHER than you, who postulated a theory, to which I responded. It was chat. And I wasn't talking to you. But hey, whatever. You just need a fight and a target tonight, in order to feel alive, is that it?

I suggest you take one of those Chill Pills and stop taking yourself, and anyone else--particularly people you don't know--so damn seriously. You'll live longer.

You can think whatever you want about that little picture. And so can I.

Stop trying to tell people what to do and how to think. It's what people like Bill O'Reilly do all the time, and it is UNATTRACTIVE.

7. Do you have any context regarding the picture??
Its clearly an emotional picture. That is clearly a cemetery behind them.

But beyond that, its a bit tough to tell what's actually going on.

So again ... do you have some context on this?

Edited on Sat Nov-19-11 10:11 PM by leveymg
I'm sure of it. KNR.

BTW: That's the Old Trinity Church at the base of Wall Street. I also remember that iron railing from a time when I was about her age, and I too said no to Wall Street. I was offered into the One Percent with a job on the Floor of the NYSE, but the place had a corrupt vibe like Vegas, and I soon left.

Why it effects you so much has everything to do with whatever it is you interpret in the photo.

20. I got the photo, and I agree with you, it's just
quietly sad...

But, I only need for this new group of what? Republicans? Bored internet teens? Whatever they are...to show themselves once at this point, and I just hit that red "X." I don't even bother talking to them; hope you don't either.

30. The look on her face is very innocent.
She is not angry. She is just humbly dedicated to doing what is right. That is what her face and demeanor say to me.

Surrounded by two towering men in uniform, she takes great pain to attempt to keep her legs together so as to remain modest.

It reminds me of an old painting of two children being interrogated as to the whereabouts of their father. The innocence, purity of spirit and honesty of youth can be very inspiring.

32. She's cuffed
Look at the position of her body. Also, do you see her arms anywhere in the picture? That's because they are behind her back. Notice also what appears to be a fresh bruise on her knee. I don't think she's cuffed to the fence behind her, that's why he is standing over her to prevent her getting up and moving away.
