One week to cut one trillion
Honestly, I step away from DU for just a few days, and not only are we seeing the last funding drive ever (yes, I donated), but we've only got one week left for this supercommittee in DC to come up with America's version of an austerity plan or else everything goes kablooie. I guess I should consider it a blessing that the car is paid off?

Maybe this is a good time to share this Mixcloud project with you once again, created for moments in history just like this:

1. Cut defense off $1 trillion, and tell them to beat it.
Republicans whines, then tell them to find us a solution that does not involve cutting services for the poor or the middle class. It's time for them to make a giant shared sacrifice.

If they whine for more funding, then they must compromise: No defense cuts, but $1 trillion worth of tax increases among the top 1%. Corporations are included since they want to be heard as 'people' and need to be hit with a 100% windfall tax.

Eisenhower had it right when he warned us about feeding the MIC complex.

It's time to starve the beast.

3. And really, how many $700 toilet seats do they need?
Save the military, but starve the MIC. I like that idea.
