Now, all NYC residents: sign the petition to recall Mayor Bloomberg!
http://www.change.org/petitions/all-nyc-residents-recall-mayor-bloomberg-now

Why This Is Important

He is turning NYC into an armed police camp and has repeatedly ordered acts of extreme violence and theft (i.e., coordinated confiscation of personal belongings) against people engaged in peaceful protest. HE BROKE THE LAW IN ORDER TO "SERVE" THIS THIRD TERM AND SHOULD NOT BE IN CONTROL OF THIS CITY IN THE FIRST PLACE. HE MUST BE REMOVED NOW.

1. I'm fairly sure New York City does not have a mechanism for recall elections.
Even if it did, this is not a legally binding petition for such.

3. Do not underestimate the power of public opinion.
The rules have changed. Everyone has noticed how much the "conversation" has changed as a result of #Occupy, the banks have lost more than a half-million customers thanks to Bank Transfer Day, etc. We're on the right track, we are doing the right thing.

9. Rules? I think maybe you need "laws" on your side first
You cannot have a recall unless there is a legal mechanism. No one is going to open polling places, print ballots, organize workers or -- and this is key -- enforce the results unless the law allows it to happen.

At best you could hope public opinion sours against the mayor and he becomes politically impotent but that's a long shot.

7. New York law does not provide for the recall of state or local officials:
