We'll occupy the streets, we'll occupy the Courts
We'' occupy the offices of you .... until you do
The bidding of the many, not the few.

I love it, I love it.

4. The wonderful, resplendent lyrics
We Are The Many

We Are The Many

Ye come here, gather 'round the stage
The time has come for us to voice our rage
Against the ones who've trapped us in a cage
To steal from us the value of our wage

From underneath the vestiture of law
The lobbyists at Washington do gnaw
At liberty, the bureaucrats guffaw
And until they are purged, we won't withdraw

We'll occupy the streets
We'll occupy the courts
We'll occupy the offices of you
Till you do
The bidding of the many, not the few

Our nation was built upon the right
Of every person to improve their plight
But laws of this Republic they rewrite
And now a few own everything in sight

They own it free of liability
They own, but they are not like you and me
Their influence dictates legality
And until they are stopped we are not free

We'll occupy the streets
We'll occupy the courts
We'll occupy the offices of you
Till you do
The bidding of the many, not the few

You enforce your monopolies with guns
While sacrificing our daughters and sons
But certain things belong to everyone
Your thievery has left the people none

So take heed of our notice to redress
We have little to lose, we must confess
Your empty words do leave us unimpressed
A growing number join us in protest

We occupy the streets
We occupy the courts
We occupy the offices of you
Till you do
The bidding of the many, not the few

You can't divide us into sides
And from our gaze, you cannot hide
Denial serves to amplify
And our allegiance you can't buy

Our government is not for sale
The banks do not deserve a bail
We will not reward those who fail
We will not move till we prevail

We'll occupy the streets
We'll occupy the courts
We'll occupy the offices of you
Till you do
The bidding of the many, not the few

We'll occupy the streets
We'll occupy the courts
We'll occupy the offices of you
Till you do
The bidding of the many, not the few

We are the many
You are the few

18. We can have more than one, but
that one strangely doesn't seem all that appropriate.

Personally, I think any anthem for the Occupy Movement should come OUT of the Occupy Movement and speak very directly to it, embodying its principles and ideals, as this one does.

Yeah - I love music and my favorite part of watching all the information streaming on Twitter is finding the music of the people. Here's a favorite of mine from the Libyan revolution - which, warning, it does have violent images: http://vimeo.com/21985272

13. Does every protest song have to be wimpy folk music?
Don't get me wrong, I love the message and I love the Occupy movement but I can't listen to this. I should do a heavy cover that reflects the anger and resentment of the movement.

15. It sounds like it was modeled on...
..."The Times They Are a-Changin'"

I listened to the whole thing, he's good. Good vocals.

It may be wimpy folk music, but it's not too bad.

How about a punk rock arrangement?

24. Maybe I'm showing my age, but I LOVE the "old folkie" sound
and the acoustic guitar. It's a brand-new song that gives me a sense of continuity with the protest songs of my youth, especially the early Dylan songs I love so much.

I read that when he sang the song in front of the Asia Rim people, he wore a shirt that said Occupy.

Gutsy...I like it.

27. Beautiful song, great singer but not a shout out loud song.
It has to be a the type of song that people can yell at the top of their voices. There is a kind of magic when a British football crowd breaks into a song. my favorite is "We'll never walk alone". I am not sure that this can happen with this song but there have been a couple of times in my life when I have been wrong.
