A direct attack on the net and social media by powers that be
that is coming...

OWS relies on social media to get eyeballs to channels... it relies on twitter and facebook for coordination. It relies on ustream for letting the rest of us SEE what is happening. It just stands to reason, and no it is not paranoia. There is no way I can physically be in St. Louis, Oakland, San Diego, and Portland at the same time in the span of two hours. There is simply NO WAY.

So sooner or later what happened in Egypt and Libya will happen here. The Net has become THE WEAPON of this global revolution and it is BYPASSING the mainstream media in ways that should (I am sure is) be scary to those in power. From their POV they are very well dealing with an insurgency... and the people are no longer as afraid as they were...

But that will not shock me. To wake one day and find that access to web has been greatly curtailed.

1. And, like in Egypt, that will be a major mistake
Like on an Anonymous forum, someone said "If they do take down the internet, then everyone will be out in the streets. Normal people, not even nerds like us, will want revolution if their internet is taken."

Someone else made the point that the internet is the only thing keeping a lot of people inside and not on the streets.

Someone else made the point that shutting down the internet will shut down the economy and destroy it, and that the idiots at Homeland Security will manage to do what even the banksters haven't done yet.

So they can try it, and they probably will, but it will blow up in their faces.

2. And it is allowing some of us nerds to report on it
live...

Sleep... I have not done this little since my days as a medic.

But that is why...

And I agree, it will be a mistake.

5. Well aparently jammers are being used
at Portland, why signal keeps dropping... Now this is apparently, but if this is the case... please read this again IF THIS IS THE CASE, it is that attack on media and the net.

I have no way to confirm or deny this claim http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x2300941 but if they are right... guess what? We just crossed that lovely line.

7. Curtailing the net is ilegal
but this is a question of what in the military is called, doing things, and begging for forgiveness.

It is just ironic, I posted this twenty four hours ago.

9. Hey that fancy real world debriefing and fancy book learnin'
makes this easy. The patterns only change a tad,,, and they are directly related to the technology at hand.

Now I know I will have to go to the surplus stores to FIND a dang modem... yes a dang physical, over the phone line modem
