Tea party unpopularity at an all-time high: poll - 52% disapproval
Two months after they voted in droves to topple Democrats from the House and expand Republican voices in the Senate, the tea party movement's disapproval ratings have reached a new high, according to a new ABC/Washington Post poll.

Fifty-two percent of the US public had an unfavorable view of "the political movement known as the Tea Party," the survey found, as opposed to only 35 percent who approved.

"Nearly three-quarters of Democrats -- including as many moderate and conservative as liberal members of the party -- have negative views of the political movement, as do half of all independents," the Post reported.

The same poll conducted in September found that 45 percent disapproved of the movement, while 36 percent supported it. Last March, its favorable rating exceeded its negative by a margin of 41 to 39 percent.

1. They didn't vote in droves
November happened because we also didn't vote in droves.

7. Many people tried hard to get everyone out in droves.......
...but the dissing of Progressives from the top of the party was just too... memorable.

The Unwanted became the Inactive.

Logical but unfortunate, anyway.

13. It had nothing to do with any "dissing of Progressives"
There are millions (and I work with them sadly) who didn't bother to pay attention to the election because "The Real Atlanta Housewives" or other such nonsense, was more important. When I asked one in my office about voting, she wanted to know if Obama was on the ballot.

And so went PA to teabagger Toomey & Crazy Corbett.

On average, the turnouts during mid-years are ALWAYS pathetically low. There are those who brag about only voting every 4 years. The difference being repukes making an effort to field more candidates in swing districts where no one might have run at all. The average person doesn't even know what the hell the word "progressive" means, let alone in relationship to politics and party.

the more they WHINE about having to tone down their hate speech, the more they will be ostracized as a right wing fringe group that has done nothing but HURT american politics.

12. When the lights dim on their swan song...
... and their fame is but a memory... I hope they don't start shooting. I'm serious. All that frothy anger with no shouting outlet... scary.

15. It would be considerably higher were it not for the
constant fawning over them by most of the media.

Most people haven't the foggiest idea what the teabaggers stand for other than lower taxes and something vague about "freedom" combined with a bunch of random patriotic imagery because when they do something overtly racist, homophobic, or just plain stupid it's time to cut to commercial.
