Sheriff promises review of Occupy San Diego arrests
The San Diego County Sheriff's Department has ordered a formal internal review of its involvement in the mass arrest of 51 Occupy San Diego activists on Oct. 28, particularly in regards to detainees who had no choice but to urinate and defecate while detained in county buses and vans.

In this week's print edition, I report on Occupy San Diego protesters who allege they were mistreated while in the Sheriff's custody. In a statement provided to CityBeat after our print deadline, the Sheriff's Department acknowledges the veracity of some of the complaints, calling them "unusual" and "unfortunate." The statement also explains that the sheriff plans to conduct a critical incident review and hold a debriefing with the San Diego Police Department about the operation.

2. The Lawsuits will be educational for all the boys and girls
who think that beating unarmed people is an action with no consequences. When all the counties all over the United States have to pay out money for the brutality of these idiots on the taxpayers' payroll, they will see how "money talks."

3. You know what is scary
the cities and counties will try to blame individual officers (and there is most likely some of that) and try to avoid command liability. Yes, it goes all the way to the top, and I don't mean the chief or sheriff in this case... I mean the Mayor.

Since Mayors are the ones signing the orders, as well as DA's it's time to actually go after command authority, That will be the only way they will get it.
