D'OH! Republican debate at a college I attended...

Oakland University, Auburn Hills, Michigan. Note that Madonna came from the crappy suburb next door. Back in the 80s, it had one record store. ONE. FEH, University of Michigan had Schoolkids, etc. etc.

But I'm old and grumpy and prone to tangents about days that weren't even so good...OU was/likely still is a conservative bastion with a very few interesting folk, mainly those who converged upon/around WXOU, the campus radio station. I know that WXOU will have some live coverage tonight, hopefully scathing. I also know that #Occupiers will be there as well, so cheer them on in your hearts and minds!

There's a live-streaming link.

FFS, we at the radio station broke U2 in the mid 80s several months before Detroit "radio" picked up on them (WLLZ, popular at the time, was known as Whole Lotta Led Zeppelin for extremely good reason). Students walked through the building through which we broadcast with scowls and wrote complaints galore to university congress (some hilarious, saying play more American music like David Bowie). Needless to say, when Detroit radio started playing U2, they all suddenly loved it. But not us
