Puppy rescued from St. Louis pond recovering

ST. LOUIS (AP) — A puppy is on the mend after being rescued from an icy pond in St. Louis.

Firefighters and the Humane Society of Missouri rescued the 9-month-old female lab mix from O’Fallon Park Lake on Thursday morning. The dog was taken to the Humane Society’s headquarters and had a body temperature of below 90 degrees. Normal body temperature for a dog is 101.5 degrees.

Police search NY home in beach-corpses probe

ASSOCIATED PRESS Dec 16, 2010 11:20AM

SMITHTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — Police on Long Island are scouring a ten-mile stretch of a beach access road where four bodies were discovered this week.

Suffolk County Police Commissioner Richard Dormer says investigators want to make sure they don’t miss any potential clues or additional corpses.
