My friend is in New York this week. She just called,

"Hi, It’s Ruby.

I went to Occupy Wall Street. And Bonnie... you don’t need to worry that you’re not there. You are represented. The people who are just like you... are there. You’re there and I told them about you. And I love you... I’ll talk to you another time."


Oh Gawd, I'm crying. I handed the phone to my husband so he could hear the message, his eyes softened, and he cried.

But that's the thing about this Movement and just about any other Movement or protest or organization of the left: it's America. All colors, shapes, sizes, ages, education (with a skew to the more educated), economic statuses, etc. All of us: America.
