ESTHER SANCHEZ’ COUNCIL AIDE FIRED IN OCEANSIDE? ORGANIZED OCCUPY EVENT ON FRIDAY

After organizing last Friday’s Occupy Oceanside event, rumors are running rampant this morning that Kyle Krahel-Frolander has been fired by Deputy Mayor Esther Sanchez. Neither Krahel-Frolander nor Sanchez could be reached for comment as of this posting, although multiple sources have confirmed the information.

It is unknown if Krahel-Frolander’s recent activities with Occupy Oceanside are connected with the rumored dismissal, but this YouTube video of the Friday event features him prominently, along with questions about whether he is in fact behind the effort and if he is doing so on city time:

6. To be honest...

I have been down to OSD weekly except for the one weekend I went up to OLA. Something about the crowd and the atmosphere on Friday at Occupy Oceanside was a little off. Is anyone aware of occupations that are created directly by MoveOn supporters and list MoveOn on their websites? I am learning that both Occupy Oceanside and Occupy North County are both very closely related to MoveOn and it kinda makes me wonder if in fact these groups are truly there in solidarity or if they are created by MoveOn to alter the movement somehow?

Maybe I'm just bein a little paranoid here, but when I approached both Kyle Krohel and Sean Rowland, neither offered any kind of response to their affiliations with MoveOn.

10. Well as a commie, I know that MoveOn is not much more

than a left centrist fromt group. IOW, not very radical with a HUGE stake in the current capitalist system. BUT to give them their due, they were instrumental in the "Rebuild the Dream" movement which preceded the Occupy movement by a month or more. Also, they're closer to the aims of the Occupy movement than the Ron Paulbots are, so if you're going to welcome the Paulbots, why not welcome the MoveOn people too?

If you want to draw a CLEAR distinction between who supports capitalism and who doesn't, I could see shunning MoveOn. But the Occupy movement apparently, as yet, doesn't want to make the connection between the abuses they complain about and the system that supports and encourages those abuses by it's very nature. Until they make this connection in no uncertain terms, MoveOn should be just as welcome as the Libertarians. Most of MoveOn is part of the 99% are they not?

I guess I was more concerned with MoveOn starting Occupations rather than joining the 99%. And I don't know how much I'm for those Ron Paulbots, lol... a few of them here are also teabaggers, and San Diego TP is clearly against Occupy San Diego.
