Has your Occupy Movement become paranoid?
Not that they don't have reasons, but it seems as though members are willing to attack people that are on their side.

Eventually, I believe they are going to have to become a political movement and enter the political process. Many of them seem to be resisting the process, but I fear I alienate them and they, me.

4. I recognize the movement, I'm just getting a little impatient....I'm hoping they
become organized activists, citizen lobbyists, a 3rd party or candidates...

And they are way too conscious that a leader emerges at this time, somebody will eat lead.

That will happen, but way too early. This is why the leaders world wide are nervous. This is not just the us.

15. Settle back and relax.
The problems we face have been 40 years in the making. This won't happen overnight. Get down to your local occupy and have your voice heard. You'll be glad you did!

2. I am sure the paid agitators want us to feel paranoid. It's what they are paid for.
Anyone who thinks that there are no paid agitators has been living under a rock for a century---and has not read the recent news either. The agitators are bragging. And the Wall Street bail out ensures that they will get paid. Hell, the RNC will pay them just so they can paint Obama as a dangerous, divisive Black man leading us to anarchy.

This happened all the time in the 60s. Protesters need to study the tactics used back then.

5. True.
We can refer to the historical record. Why should this time be different? And as you mention, some provocateurs have outed themselves.

12. I know. It's frustrating. I'm frustrated. OWS is the greatest movement
that's happened in my lifetime and I want it to succeed.

3. Where are you?
My experience in NYC does not reflect that. People are fine with differences of opinion - enjoy them even, debates are lively - but are wary of disruptive behavior.

I'm also curious if you're willing to give me a short explanation of what you mean by entering the political process.

8. The open/non-structured approach will bring in a some flakes
and with flakes comes all sort of interesting behavior issues.

Today the people at the encampment I went to were much more defensive and closed. Finally one of the regulars remembered me and things were good.

11. Paranoid denotes an irrational fear. A very definite threat has been demonstrated.

14. "entering the political process"
That could be why you're getting a cold reception. Sounds like you want them to do what the people in Wisconsin did. Shut up, go home, and focus on recalls and working within the system.
