3. The police are using rubber bullets and such.
Somebody posted that they are using flash bang grenades. Those are some serious shite. Unless the protestors were violent, this is waaaaaay over the top.
I think they are using these protestors as guinea pigs to try their 'toys' and methods on.
Gotta practice.....

6. I've only seen one poster reporting rubber bullets and flash bang
grenades and no images. I hope that is just panic and not real. :(

Did see an image of tear gas from someone I follow:

22. I'm concerned with them holding observers and reporters
at a distance. There needs to be some documentation about how this went down.

The U.S. using violence to disturb a peacefully assembled crowd needs to be transparent.

11. The neofascists have issued their orders.
Weapons will be used and beatings will now begin because the idle rich and corporate aristocracy are afraid of the people they have been abusing daily. The protesters have done nothing and yet the show of force from our supposedly democratic country is so overblown. Where was the force and weapons when the teabaggers marched, beat up people, spit on congressmen and brought weapons to presidential rallies?

Yet these nonviolent peaceful protesters are attacked as a major threat.

Stay strong occupiers, you/we are the 99%. There are more of us than there are of them.

Already thinking of driving up to Bay Area to resist. May check in with my colleagues at Occupy Los Angeles to see if there's any way to organize a group effort to reinforce Oakland.

24. It's very simple and intuitive, nothing like facebook.
It requires no upkeep at all, nothing to delete like a mailbox.

You just set up your account and choose whose tweets you'd like to get in your stream. You can adjust that easily at any time to add or subtract choices.

Once you're there, it's a matter of reading as much or as little as you like, of passing alone tweets you think others might like and replying to people with your own tweets when you want to. Very low stress. :)

Police arrest defiant ‘Occupy Oakland’ protesters

Posted: 5:50 am PDT October 25, 2011Updated: 6:04 am PDT October 25, 2011

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Under the cover of darkness early Tuesday, riot-geared Oakland police began arresting and clearing out ‘Occupy Oakland’ protesters who had defied an order to abandon a makeshift encampment set up at city hall.
Sources told KTVU that '30-40' protesters had been arrested...

..."I'm committed to protecting our First Amendment rights and not let us be pushed around," Reyko Kikage, 31, who described himself as a member of the camp's security committee, said over the weekend...

..."What we're trying to do is nip this problem in the bud," said Sgt. Jason Dwyer. "If they keep setting up shop, we're going to keep taking them to jail."

Arrests have also been made in Sacramento and San Francisco.

Was ginned up with help from compliant fascist owned media organizations for a raid at 4:30AM so no one would notice. Smear pieces, then media blackout, then attack/suppression.

Welcome back to the Police State.

So much for freedom of speech and assembly, example set by our fierce advocates in D.C. ala SOS and McGovern's arrest last year.

Hands off my Social Security!
Hands off Latin America!
