John Stossel wants to Liberate Wall St.
Edited on Mon Oct-17-11 02:29 PM by Avalux
from the government!

Yep, you heard that right (and I mean right as in crazy bizarro world Right). He believes that the government's control of Wall Street is the cause of the economical mess we're in, and all regulations should stop immediately so that Wall St. can have unbridled freedom to do what they do best and fix our economy!

I know, it's John Stossel/Fox News and I shouldn't be surprised. I was aimlessly flipping through the channels before bed (one of those nights where I just couldn't get up and actually go to bed). He made this declaration during the opening. The talking points from the Right are becoming more and more ridiculous as they lose their grip. I may watch more for sheer entertainment value.

I used to get angry but now I don't care when I listen to them. Something has definitely shifted....

4. Sad, especially considering how I first heard of him
It was years ago, on some special 20/20 (or similar) show all about the power of belief, and how psychics and other charlatans rip people off.

Now he's one of them.

8. That is what Lassaiz-Faireists believe, as bizarre as it sounds. That is their party line.
If we just stopped taxing businesses and removed all regulations, they would save and enrich us all.

 and another

Despite all the evidence to the contrary, this is in what they insist on believing.

9. Funny how things have turned around. Back in the day, you had a RESPONSIBLITY for being on TV.
I remember, after Watergate, my peers being journalism majors because they call journalism AS A HIGHER CALLING.

They SAW that journalists and people in the media have a responsibility to THE PEOPLE to present information that will help, inform, and reveal THE TRUTH.

I remember it changing too. I remember when the "investigative" journalism turned into "lifestyles of the rich and famous" and then, over the course of a few years, everything you saw on TV was some kind of press release.

Now, of course, it's LIES. It's the EXACT OPPOSITE of the truth.

And this, from a man who used to be a "consumer" reporter...
