Dorothy Cooper, 96... Denied Registration Because She Didn't Have Her Marraige License...
Shame! 96-Year-Old Woman: Voting Now More Difficult Than During Jim Crow
Written by NewsOne Staff on October 10, 2011 1:28 pm

A 96-year-old woman who has been voting for more than 70 years, even through the Jim Crow era, said the new voting ID laws in Tennessee have made voting more of a hassle than its ever been.

Dorothy Cooper spoke about the difficulties she experienced trying to vote appearing on Rev. Al Sharpton’s Politics Nation show. According to Cooper, she was alerted that she would need her marriage certificate to be able to vote. At another voting booth she was told she could vote absentee.

Dorothy Cooper states that she never, at the age of 96, thought that voting would be such a hassle.
“I never thought that is would be like this ever,” Cooper said.

6. Actually, this could keep many WOMEN from voting. After all, men don't usually change
their names when they marry but many women do. So women will need a panoply of legal documents that prove their identity (name) from cradle onward.

This condition primarily keeps women from voting. White women, black women, oriental women, hispanic women, etc.

And, of course, that would eliminate a lot of Democratic voters, wouldn't it.
