Watching Tweety and his asshole pastor guest who said Mormonism is a cult. Kind of said the onlygood honest people are Christians. Must have said Christian 50 times.

8. Why get bothered? If Romney gains the nod for the Nomination. . .
this sort of mindless internal Republican debate can only help doom his campaign.

Some mindsets cannot be changed except through the passage of sufficient time. The hold Christianity has on the American psyche is one such seemingly intractable issue which, when viewed through the prism of time, is seen to be inexorably loosening - even amongst its most rigid adherents.

Better that we should use it against itself. There's the "light" that we should see. Far better that they labor in the darkness of their myopia. At least, far better in this particular realm.

I was glad he was gone......

"he" was my now deceased fundy pastor father in-law.
That is all.

What a cross to bear!

11. Just posted this at FB because of the odd wording of something he said:
"Do we want a candidate who is a good, moral person or do we want a candidate who is a born-again follower of the Lord Jesus Christ?" Texas Pastor Robert Jeffress speaking at a values convention.

This choice struck me as so oddly worded. I'll take a good, moral person, thank you very much, because the title of born-again follower in and of itself does not mean you are a good, moral person.

I parsed that statement the same way on first reading while being so used to the RW's false dichotomies.

14. Not even watching and I agree with you.
Everything seems permeated with Christian talk. TV, conversations overheard, blessing from cashiers or waiters and waitresses. I grew up with a large part of my family, thankfully not my part of the family, who were evangelicals...healers, talking in tongues, missionaries. I had my fill by the time I was 5.

16. "Christian" is so meaningless
There's Baptist, Lutheran, Catholic, Presbyterian, Episcopal, Methodist, etc., etc. When someone tells me (s)he is a "Christian," I hear LDS or Fundie. Christianity is the umbrella over numerous denominations fer crying out loud.

19. That's not how the fundies mean by "Christian"
They think "Christian" is a follower of a crackpot evangelist preacher scammer making millions by making them send money for prayers.
