DCCC asks supporters to sign petition in support of Occupy Wall Street

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is asking supporters to sign a petition in support of the Occupy Wall Street movement.

"Protestors are assembling in New York and around the country to let billionaires, big oil and big bankers know that we’re not going to let the richest 1% force draconian economic policies and massive cuts to crucial programs on Main Street Americans," the DCCC email sent out Monday reads.

(snip)
“We share the anger and frustration of so many Americans who have seen the enormous toll that an unchecked Wall Street has taken on the overwhelming majority of Americans while benefitting the super wealthy,” Reps. Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.) and Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) said in a joint statement last week.

The DCCC email, though, is one of the earliest expressions of support by an established Democratic campaigning organization.

GOAL: 100,000 Strong Standing with Occupy Wall Street

4. The DCCC?
That's pretty funny.

Does this mean we're actually going to see a push for REAL change? Cutting the military, a Single Payer Health Care System, ending the drug war and the war on chemo patients, legalization of pot, the re-instating of glass-steagall, for starts?

I realize you're shitting your pants about next November, but how about WALKING THE FUCKING WALK for a change, instead of belatedly trying to talk the talk?

Yeah Ill believe that when it happens, right?

Take your concerns down to Wall Street DCCC. Freeze your asses off all winter, then we'll talk!

9. I didn't even bother to sign the DCCC petition. What a waste of time!

Here's an excerpt from another post:

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has posted a petition on their website declaring: "Sign our petition right now and help us reach 100,000 strong standing with Occupy Wall Street protestors across the country!"

Oh. So they are urging people to participate in and help build the OWS protests? Well, not exactly.

They failed to list the locations of the local OWS demonstrations or at least post a link to any website that contains that information and they forgot to urge people to participate in the local protests! Just an oversight, I'm sure.

But, sign their petition and send them your e-mail address.

The DCCC petition will be delivered to John Boehner and Eric Cantor.

That'll have a dramatic impact!

What a waste of time. I didn't even bother to sign the petition. I went down to my local OWS encampment and made a financial donation instead.

11. I don't have any problem with their supporting, but I sure hope Dems realize
they need to be followers of OccupyWallStreet, not owners or leaders. They need to remember who works for whom, if nothing else, OWS needs to really hang on to their own identity and continue to lead in their communal, open-minded way.
