House Democratic Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said she supports the growing nationwide Occupy Wall Street movement, which began on the streets of downtown New York City in mid-September.

"I support the message to the establishment, whether it's Wall Street or the political establishment and the rest, that change has to happen," said Pelosi in an exclusive interview with ABC News "This Week" anchor Christiane Amanpour. "We cannot continue in a way this is not relevant to their lives."

Pelosi lashed back at Cantor, saying that American democracy allows for public expression.

"How they characterize someone who may disagree with them, that says more about them," said Pelosi.

Pelosi: GOP didn’t object to tea party taunts, why complain about Wall St. protest?
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi says she agrees with protesters from Wall Street to Washington who are saying most of the country isn’t getting a fair shake from the financial and political establishments.

Republicans are criticizing the protesters’ message as divisive. Asked to respond, the California Democrat said on ABC’s “This Week” that the GOP didn’t object to the tea party’s in-your-face protests against members of Congress in last year’s elections.

Nancy Pelosi Weighs In On Wall Street Protests, Pushes Back On Eric Cantor's 'Growing Mobs' Criticism
"I didn't hear him say anything when the Tea Party was out actually spitting on members of Congress," Pelosi said, referring to a 2010 event on Capitol Hill in which a Tea Party protester spit on Rep. Emanual Cleaver (D-Mo.).

1. Pelosi had no credibility with me.
She had a huge chance to make a difference, but nooooo...."impeachment is not on the table".
As if that woman and her investment banker, football team owning husband can even begin to relate to the problems of anyone who earns less than a million dollars......

7. That's funny. When we camped out in front of her house
because she wouldn't hold town halls or meet with us, she disowned her own constituents to the media.

lol

5. she doesn't support it enough to raise a finger to stop the rampant police brutality, though
not even the events that occurred in her own district.

Thanks, but no thanks, Pelosi.

6. I don't think the Democrats in Congress "get it." THEY-ARE-PART-OF-THE-PROBLEM.
They allowed K-Street. They allowed all the monied lobbyists into their offices. They allowed the Corporations to pay-to-play. They allow Corporations to buy elections. They allowed the idiot-in-chief, Cheney and their warmongering cabal to get away with murder by NOT investigating their war crimes. They are the ones who have ignored "We the People." They are the ones who refuse to dump hackable evoting machines. They are the ones who refuse to investigate evoting machine FRAUD. They are the ones who passed the HORRENDOUS Medicare Bill. They are the ones who bailed out Wall Street while ignoring the plight of Main Street.

They are the ones who need to be removed from office.

Maybe now they'll get it. Assholes.
