One dollar. Google "Jobs Salary" if you doubt me.

True enough he owns stock valued at over $2Billion, but even that is less than 1.5% of the company.

I don't begrudge him this. He founded the company. He made it an icon and then he came back a second time to rescue it from the brink of irrelevance.

2. Thank you.
I'm tired of the Jobs-bashing here. I'm grateful for the products I bought from Apple. I'm typing this on an eMac that I have been running every day for the last 7 years without a hardware failure or even a system crash. Not even once has the Mac OS system failed. They really do build products and software right. I don't begrudge him his money.

8. On his 55 million that he made last year in dividends he would owe 8.2 million...
how much he paid, I don't know.

4. Exactly! Thank you for bringing it up -
I, too, am sick of the Jobs bashing. It's so very small-minded and actually childish.

5. Got any info on his charitable donations?
And his will? I hope he was kind hearted, but I know his employees don't think so.

6. I read that his salary was $1/year.
He was an amazingly creative man.

I found the info here, along with some other info:

7. That fact loses some relevance as his income (+$55mil) was based on other factors...
Edited on Thu Oct-06-11 08:02 PM by yawnmaster
For instance, he owns more Disney stock than any other individual...
and Disney pays a dividend.
Jobs owned 138 million Disney shares at $0.40 per share (last payout) dividend = $55 million dollars.
Steve was making $55 million dollars per year (48 million last year) on Disney dividends alone.
That said, it does look good and definitely leaves some millions to be put back into the company.

(btw dividends are taxed at 15% vs a 35% if he had taken income)

edited to add the dividend tax rate
