http://blog.alexanderhiggins.com/2011/09/29/trendsmap-p... /

A Trends map of trending twitter hashtags shows #OccupyWallStreet tweets surging in nations around the entire world, except in the United States, while Google Trends shows a corporate media blackout.
JP Morgan has invested $400 million dollars into twitter and in return….

BTW is not part of our foreign policy to spread
Democracy around the world.

12. From the trendmap article:
"As a commentator points out, the hash tag is now visible with the US following this article getting widespread attention."

I think that puts the question to bed: it was censorship, of the most blatant sort.

23. When I put it in google I got 'About 460,000,000 results'
when I put time frame as "past month".
Yahoo gave me 2,630,000 results for "past month"
Oddly when I made it for "anytime" for google I got 'About 4,540,000 results' for same search terms
Yahoo got 3,020,000 result

Anyway they must not mean regular search because it sure isn't blacked out there. They must mean some special feature?

And 460,000,000 is not a typo. In fact since I started typing this it has changed to "About 463,000,000 results"

15. Have you read It Can't Happen Here by Sinclair Lewis?
It's a novel about the rise of fascism in the U.S. It scared the bejezzus out of me when I read it last year, due to the parallels with our current rise of the RW and Tea Party.

13. NOW it does.
I searched in depth just a day or two ago for "occupy wall street" and found next to nothing in Google News. I wasn't stunned. This is a natural reaction for a company of Google's size. What stuns me, what lays me flat and knocks out my teeth, is that there are people on this board who will swear up and down and argue and argue that this wasn't intentional.

It truly boggles my mind that anyone paying any attention at all would possibly be that naive.

As of this writing, Google News has "about 3,930 results" for the term "occupy wall street". I am willing to testify in court that this is a sudden and marked change. Google Images has the same affliction (I checked it while writing this post).

Something was going on, activists noticed, and it's apparently a victory because the practice seems to have very suddenly stopped. Now we need to be vigilant and make sure we don't let it happen again.

17. Ive found stuff every day for the past two weeks...
...bearing in mind that NEWS will tend to decline when there's no news being made. After the Saturday pepper-spray stories, not a lot of breaking news was occurring among the people occupying Zuccoti Park.

I've seen people posting this before who have no idea what this even means.

Can you please post a link to the US trends map?
