A new CNN poll shows that a surprising number of Republicans say they don't identify with the goals of the tea party movement. While views in some areas -- homosexuality, religion, and abortion -- other views on issues like social security and education were divided.t-make-a-difference.htm

1. No surprise to me. They use the social issues to drum up the bodies
to move the economic issues -- which are the only ones they really care about.

So far as the PTB go, they don't care whether we abort our children, use drugs, go to church or join the atheist society.

They just care that they control us so they can farm us.

2. Not publicly they don't.
Inside and behind closed doors, they probably love it. The Tea Party has a bad rep. They are unpopular but they still scare me.

3. Don't blame them. THE TPARTY NATION is incompatible w Democracy
The political goals for the TPARTY NATION is to convert the US democracy to an oligarchy and establish a new social order based on SOCIAL DARWINISM-survival of the fittest, you are on your own. Fortunately, civilized societies, rejected such mindless, ruthless, approach to life long ago. If the pilgrims had not come together that first winter, they all would have died. We need each other, God made us social creatures and we have an obligation to honor each other, to care for each other and to preserve this great country for future generations. Grover Norquist, the KOCHROACHES and the MURDOGS have no patience with democracy. The want to make this a nation of CORPORATE CITIZENS who take all the rewards for themselves while throwing minimum wages out to the hirelings.

4. A difference to whom?
You can bet the popular media will continue to hang on every utterance from the Tea Baggers, and they will provide useful cover to Republicans who don't want to be publicly painted into that particular corner, unless it's convenient or they need the votes. So, no, I don't think it will make a difference. Republicans who subscribe to 90% or more of Tea Bagger philosophy will emphasize the miniscule differences for the low-information voter, whilst embracing the platform for their buddies in the base.
