Cut down the beer sales, maybe. Make every other beer hawker a cop. Cut off the drunks. Control the fucking rowdies. Do something real, not more pat downs of innocent people.

Fuck you, NFL.

people will stay home or go to sports bars and watch big screen TVs.

It's really pissing me off. Yeah, one jackass brought a taser into the Cowboys game, what a piece of crap, but the rest of us shouldn't be made to suffer because of this jackass.

7. I can sort of understand why he did it.
I was at that game and most of the Cowboy fans I saw were total assholes (until the last minute of the game). If you're going to act that way in the other team's stadium, you should probably expect trouble. I didn't actually see the incident, but I'm willing to bet he was asking for it.

My stadium, I am definitely scared for my life. I was talking to a bartender at Angels Stadium a while back and they were saying that fights between Angel and Dodger fans break out all the time. Look, if you're visiting fans, don't be a douche.

They are as obnoxious as they get.

Conversely, when the Pittsburgh Steelers came to play the Chiefs at Arrowhead, their fans were good natured and polite.

Maybe we have been lucky, or I just have managed not to witness this kind of crap. Our stadium was built to reflect that old nostalgic feel, so maybe that is helping?

I am not surprised at football games, but baseball? Just seems so .... wrong...

6. I'm reminded of this Jesse Ventura rant...
JESSE VENTURA, HOST: Imagine an alien suddenly dropped into the 21st century America. He goes to a Monday night football game and witnesses thousands of people guzzling a liquid refreshment as fast as vendors can supply it.

Observing the spectacle of the game itself, the alien is constantly distracted by fans whose behavior seems to become more and more bizarre. He watches as fights
break out between half-naked fans with painted bodies.

By the end of the contest, on the playing field, he notes that most of the people around him seem to have lost their ability to walk and for some reason, their speech has changed. Words are less audible. They seem to be talking in slow motion. Once the game is over, he watches the fans stumbling toward their cars, cursing and threatening other fans.

Clearly, the alien observes, something has caused these fans to have a mind-altering experience. But whatever is going on, it seems to be acceptable behavior for this society, because all the while, many police officers observe the behavior, but remain at a distance and don't interfere.

The next day, the alien attends a lecture on a college campus. After the lecture, he's invited by some students to a party. At the party, students are sitting around drawing smoke from a bottle-like structure with water in it. The
smoke is inhaled into their bodies, the conversation is friendly, calm and respectful, and music is playing in the background. But all of a sudden, many police officers arrive with guns, grab the water-filled bottle, put handcuffs on
everyone in the room, and take them off to jail. The alien is totally confused.

Welcome to the United States of America, the land of hypocrisy.

37. The NFL has issued a statement that all those attending NFL events shall be
Edited on Sat Sep-17-11 09:02 AM by Honeycombe8
full body searched. For all NFL games. That includes here at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. A reporter asked for a comment from the Cowboys or the Cowboys Stadium or something. They said "no comment." I'm thinking they're not going to want to do that and will maybe try to get the NFL to change its mind or come up with another solution.

I don't see full body searches going on here at the Cowboys Stadium. It would be a logistical nightmare. And I don't know who'd pay for it.

Here's what the NFL wants:

The NFL wants all fans patted down from the ankles up this season to improve fan safety.

Under the new "enhanced" pat-down procedures, the NFL wants all 32 clubs to search fans from the ankles to the knees as well as the waist up. Previously, security guards only patted down fans from the waist up while looking for booze, weapons or other banned items.

The stricter physical screening policy impacts the 16.6 million fans expected to attend live regular season NFL games this season. The more thorough searches will spell longer lines for ticket-holding fans seeking entry to games. It's sure to raise the ire of some fans who consider it an invasion of privacy.

The NFL recommended the new guidelines before the kickoff of the 2011 season which coincided with the 10th anniversary of 9/11. The league hopes fans will be "patient," says spokesman Brian McCarthy, and arrive earlier to games to avoid long, punishing lines.

21. Question: Why do guys fight at sports events?
It happened recently with the taser. Then there was an incident a couple of weeks ago outside a stadium.

What is it that gets these guys to fighting? Does someone say something like, "Your team wears pink army boots!" And the other guy goes berserk? Or is it something personal, like hitting on a gf? Just what IS it?

A patdown holds the default assumption that you are are a criminal.

Not everyone likes someone else's hands on their body, it is personally offensive when not absolutely necessary.

It's not absolutely necessary to be patted down going to a football game.

If ticket sales drop enough, things may change.

I personally wouldn't go to any sporting event, but not because of the pat down, which only lasts 30 seconds or so. My deal would be crowd noise, rowdy behavior, and walking a mile to the restroom and then standing in line for what would seem like an hour.

No thanks.
