6. So true, and yet ...
When I switched to CNN (how stupid of me) for one minute during Rachel Maddow's commercial break, I heard David Gergen doing precisely that: judging it on its potential political impact. Of course, he judged it negatively.

I immediately thought how crass that was (not to criticize the speech, but to discuss it's political potential). Feh. I changed back to the commercial rather than continue to listen to that.
