. . . Rachel Maddow just reminded us, the cheering some would have us believe was partisan politics included cheering with similar enthusiasm for Jan Brewer.

1. As soon as we come together, the other side says "political" like it's incest
and we back off.

Ridiculous.

Btw, at my wake, I need someone to do 3 minutes on how much I hated Raygun. With lots of cussing.

2. This will be the RW meme tomorrow
They are already spreading it. They can't act like humans, even for one day.

3. The term they're using is "pep rally".
As if there is anything wrong with comforting or encouraging a devastated community.

Fuck them.

4. They did the same thing when Paul Wellstone died...
His memorial service had so many heartbroken there that his family felt the need to raise their spirits, and it did turn into a sorely needed pep rally. Nobody would have liked it better than Paul Wellstone, but the Reps really ruined the memory of that marvelous service for those of us at home, watching on TV, who were uplifted by it...

6. I have it on tape and have watched it many times.
Of course he would have liked it. He was a fighter.

5. Sigh... the people complaining failed to notice it was at a University!
It was a college aged crowd up in the bleachers. They cheered and whistled for everyone.... while I found it off-putting at a memorial, they are immature and don't understand the nature of the event. But there is NO WAY they're going to try and turn this into one of their manufactured outrages, as they did at Paul Wellstone's memorial. That's horrific that they'd suggest it. Brewer got a huge response from the crowd.

7. They cheered for everyone

8. My best friend who is now dead did not want a funeral or a memorial.
She told her three sons to get a bottle of whiskey and celebrate her life. I am sure they did. I wish I had been with them. This was not a funeral. It was a memorial (memory)of their lives not their deaths. Mourning their deaths will be at their funerals in each of their own churches or homes.

9. I still remember that hilarious boat story that a friend of Teddy's told
at his wake about being his crew in a race. "There's nothing to it!"
