Bystanders grab pot that spills from truck in SJ
Bystanders grab pot that spills from truck in SJ

San Jose police are looking for pedestrians and motorists who grabbed bags of marijuana that spilled onto the road from a truck that crashed.

Police say the bystanders swooped in and grabbed most of the pot after the driver of the truck fled the crash in south San Jose early Wednesday morning.

When officers arrived, they found a few remaining bags of marijuana and a loaded handgun inside the truck.

Police tell the San Jose Mercury News (http://bit.ly/nQTRAR) they are also looking for the truck's driver, who was carrying the marijuana illegally. Neither the driver nor any of the people who took the marijuana has been identified.

1. LOL! Sorry but this strikes me funny in an ironic way.
Another reason it should be legalized. That driver and those who took the pot are now hunted criminals, all because of a plant that has more benefits to it than drawbacks. California's jails are bursting at the seams because of these "criminals".

11. Keeping it illegal is good for economy:

1)It keeps farmers and drug dealers employed.
2)It keeps the profits flowing for the private prison industry
3)It allows American industries to compete with the 3rd world by using prison slave labor.

See! Three good reasons and no down side <sarcasm>.

15. I found one in Baja once....
I thought it was a boat cushion at first, then realized it was wrapped completely in tape surrounding a green garbage bag pulled over a bale o' bud. It was on New Years day, LOL, and the group I was with had planned to depart that beach that day, but then the bale washed up. It had gotten wet, but we just rinsed the salt water off, spread it out to dry, and changed our travel plans. There were drug check points up and down the peninsula so we couldn't take the dope with us, and we had to be back in the U.S. a week or so later, so we decided to stay on that beach-- forever after named "Kilo Beach" on our maps-- one more day. We had to fashion a bong/bubbler/contraption out of water bottles, and then the race was on. How much pot can you smoke in 24 hours, LOL. I was hoarse for a week, afterward.

We carefully wrapped the dried remainder, sealed it in multiple layers of plastic, and left it stashed in the cliff face above the beach. When we returned a year later it was gone though, and it was obvious that I hadn't climbed high enough to escape the biggest tides and storms. The bag was gone, and the stash was full of flotsam.

It was a fun day while it lasted, though!

4. I saw this happen one time with a load of fresh salmon
Truck took a corner too sharply, a dozen or so 2-3 foot long fish fell out, people driving scooping them up as they went by.

The pot mob crash must have been hilarious to witness. I wish someone would post video on youtube!!

16. Like the square grouper that used to wash up on South Florida beaches.
Maybe this should be called road krill.
