Yes, it has come to this.....

You won't find too many fans of Michele Bachmann's politics in New York and Los Angeles.
But as the New York Daily News reports, liberal women on both coasts are coveting the politico's bouncy, highlighted hairstyle.

"A lot of clients have asked for Sarah Palin hair in the past four years, and now, it's Bachmann," a Los Angeles hair stylist told the Daily News.

"This is turning out to be a very, very difficult decision.

It's certainly the case that Bachmann has good hair; I'd go so far as to say that it is definitely Presidenti­al Hair.

However, things aren't that simple. Clearly, Rick Perry also possesses formidable hair, and this makes him a strong competitor­. And, of course, it would be foolish, at this point, to count out Sarah Palin, since her hair is not only quite strong, but, also has the added advantage of being "tested under fire" in the last presidenti­al election. From that perspectiv­e, Sarah Palin's hair is a "known commodity" and is likely to confer upon her a sense of stability and strength among voters.

Clearly, this is an aspect of the presidenti­al race that properly requires a great deal of analysis, and, frankly, I just don't think the average voter will have the time or resources to properly assess this important presidenti­al attribute.

To help simplify things, therefore, I propose the adoption of a new bit of acronymic nomenclatu­re, which I call : "FAP" - "Follicula­r Aptness for the Presidency­." If journalist­s and political commentato­rs would simply assign each candidate a number, it would be a great service to voters as they weigh the merits of the different contenders­."

Its not about being President.

This next part is not for the squeamish ...

Right wing Christian women are noticing that their aging husbands find Palin and Bachmann sexually attractive. Icky, I know. But that's just the fact. My 80ish conservative father in law sits up straight any time Palin is on TV, and he gets giddy over her "spunk". He has no idea what her positions are, other than she is a good Christian and she loves America. Which he enough for him!!

And so, I think that same dynamic is playing out in right wing America .... middle aged right wing women are trying to remake themselves with that same Palin / Bachmann "look". Because that "look" that makes the old right wing guy sit up and pay attention.

I also think this is the reason the GOP is cranking out women who have that same look.
