MSNBC just lamenting on those "poor" people who had to have their quarter million dollar yachts ...
... taken out of the water because of the hurricane. He said that would cost them a lot of money. The MSNBC host seemed very concerned about this. Almost like it effected him personally.

I can't believe what passes for news these days.

1. Absolutely outrageous. Thankfully, they aren't lamenting their expense
as the yacht cranes are dodging floating bodies to scoop up the yachts.

Do they really think we are going to feel sorry for the 1%-ERs?

2. It is huge news in the hurricane communities. They dont even have the facilities to haul all the boa
boats. Many choose to run out to sea and weather the hurricane rather than abandon their boats. They dont even have a fraction of dry dock available at any price. I dont poopoo all those that have a boat. Many worked hard and sacrificed for them. Some depend on them to make a living. Many are financed.

3. Maybe FEMA will pay for the cranes it so they don't have to sacrifice so much?

15. What a very 'non costal' cynicism. Uninformed, snobbish
and intellectually landlocked.

4. Shhh. You are not allowed to complain about media coverage of the "storm of a lifetime" here.
Just let the media be what it is (well to some around here anyway).

6. Too bad they didn't get in their yachts and sail into the storm.
It would stop the complaining.

7. RepubliWankers own the networks, and hire RepubliWankers to whine the Replicon tune
...so naturally RepubliWanker news readers don't give a shit about anyone who is poor, hungry or suffering, while lamenting the booboos that come to the Yachting Class (R).

8. It's better that what happens when they don't take them out of the water
They end up as million dollar kindling smashed on the first concrete object they find (usually a bridge) and the owners are then assessed damages by the harbormaster.

19. Nah...they want the government to replace the damaged
or destroyed properties. So yea it trickles down to the commo man to pay for their property.

12. and all our local boat yards just made
a boat load of money for it too. :)

Then again, most of it (up here anyway) were not 1/4 million dollar yachts either. Many locals, fishermen, lobstermen etc...yeah, a couple of large yachts here and there..

16. A quarter of a million for an 'rv' is chump change.
At least half million for even a decent coach, really. At least.
