In my opinion, the Democrats should have debated the bush tax cut extension

at least 6 months ago, as in BEFORE the mid terms. As soon as the republickers started bitching about the "impending tax bomb," the Dems. should have proposed legislation to make the middle class tax cuts permanent.

Then the Dems could have made campaign ads saying "This republican voted against tax cuts for the middle class. That's because he/she cares for the rich over everyone else." Could have framed the issue.
