Dems Will Sweep to Victory in 2012!!---and Obama lost the broom.........
Wisconsin and Ohio showed what happens when you mess with workers (both union and non-union are on fire)! NY 26 (repub-land)showed what happens when you mess with Medicare (and the social safety net)!!!! We CANNOT lose in 2012....and now turning to the Prez:

Obama won't touch "workers" issues with a ten-foot poll (hints they should sacrifice instead). Looks like he wants to puke if the issue gets near him. Also, he is hell bent to put all the safety nets on the "table" so that Dems can show the country that we want to gut them as much or more than any repuke. (Footnote: Also, he is attacking a thing called "Congress" instead of - god forbid - using the word "Republican" or even "Tea Party Wing" when he is speaking. Is he afraid those words will bite him or what??).

We have taken two huge steps forward and then been slam dunked into our OWN net! I'm getting too old for this crap.....it angers me.

1. The answer lies with THE PEOPLE, as you astutely pointed out. Think Howard Zinn.
As for President Obama, discern any pattern from the quotes on the custom rug in the Oval Office? I'm inclined to give him a pass.

http://dailycaller.com/2010/08/31/obama-replaces-bush-oval-office-rug-with-new-quote-emblazoned-carpet/

Obama’s Oval floor piece is unique in that he chose quotes by past presidents, as well as civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.,* to be part of the design. The five quotes are as follows, according to the White House:

•“The Only Thing We Have to Fear is Fear Itself” – President Franklin D. Roosevelt
•“The Arc of the Moral Universe is Long, But it Bends Towards Justice” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
•“Government of the People, By the People, For the People” – President Abraham Lincoln
•“No Problem of Human Destiny is Beyond Human Beings” – President John F. Kennedy
•“The Welfare of Each of Us is Dependent Fundamentally Upon the Welfare of All of Us” – President Theodore Roosevelt

'WE ARE THE CHANGE WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR' - what's it mean?

2. Obama did not lose the broom. He threw it away to rescue his GOP friends and hide behind
bipartisanship to pursue the agenda he wanted to all along.

You are right on the money. All of this is crafted. The repukes demanded cover after the Ryan budget and he rushed to their rescue. He is also very happy to see unions finally be destroyed and government programs slashed. No one points out what a joke the triggers are. While Medicare will be slashed the Defense Dept. cuts are optional. Therefore, we know the committee is just something to keep us entertained for a few months and then he can fake outrage that the triggers went off but that we cannot really touch our national defense.

11. You have that completely fucked up and backwards. Medicare is protected, defense is cut.
But don't let little things like facts stop you.

19. Provider cuts are cuts. If you think the recipients won't feel the provider cuts, you're wrong
And we've got several Republicans talking up how great defense cuts would be.

Yeah, Obama sure showed them!

22. Cutting food to babies - does that fit in with Michele's childhood obesity program?
Sarcasm of course.

13. My rec. showed up "+1", at 2:52 p.m.
I also feel I am too old for this crap! I was recently asked to help with the campaign of a local progressive Dem at the county level, and said yes. I look at it as beginning the long process of reclaiming traditional Democratic principles, starting at the ground level. I don't know the guy personally, but my progressive Democratic family doc & her husband do, and they say he is an honest and trustworthy man.

Well, that will make quite a change from the last politician I campaigned for.

I've campaigned and voted for every Dem. presidential candidate since JFK. There have been some dark and discouraging times along the way - McGovern, Dukakis, etc., but I have never been anywhere near as discouraged as I have been by Obama's actions in office. And while other Democratic candidates may have lost, they never betrayed the party.
