The "Tea Party" is...
...essentially the Republican Party of the separatist and racist South.
With a few geographical exceptions but that is pretty much it isn't it?

5. You are correct although the 'centrists' will try to make you say
it is 'all over the country' and 'across the land' and 'everyplace' it is mostly an isolated, regional thing.

9. My Congressman is a good case study.
Being a border State he sounds like the typical Tea Party racist but votes down the line GOP establishment when told to do so. The Tea Party in our area is synonymous with the clan. There are enough Democrats in our area to discourage an open town hall meeting. What is left are robo calls for phone conferences where opposition views are ridiculed, called names then openly identified, and opposition view points get harassing calls. Based on my own experience and that of others, I view attempts of my congressman to contact me equivalent to that of a home intruder. I have never been profane, threatening, engaged in name calling, nor have I bombarded him with correspondence. The only direct request I have made is not to be included in phone conference requests. I get on the average of 2 per month, even though they do exist I have never been invited to live town hall meeting ( which are never publicly printed).

10. I would be curious to know if any Tea-Bagger has ever stopped for a moment...
to think about their own imagery. I mean the humble Tea-Bag. (I know there are copious amounts of sexual imagery, but that is not what I'm thinking)

One takes a Tea-Bag and seeps it in Hot water. Many add some sugar or honey and drink the tea, but then what about the Tea-Bag?
It gets tossed into the garbage or compost pile.

To me, it seems that they are relating themselves to an object which is to be used once and tossed away.
Can't they see that their 'invisible' corporate overlords are just using them to brew their tea?
That they can't expect to get back anything more that the garbage or compost they will be tossed into?

They talk about the tree of liberty being watered with the blood of patriots and tyrants. The truth is that they are going to be used as the fertilizer for the vines that will choke and kill that very tree.

Sorry, I know I'm preaching to the choir. It's just that those people make my migraines worse and sometimes I think that is part of their goal.

17. Gore Vidal was a tea bagger?
Who knew.

Vidal became a supportive correspondent of Timothy McVeigh, who blew up the Alfred P. Murrah Building in Oklahoma City in 1995 killing 168 people. The huge loss of life, indeed McVeigh’s act of mass murder, goes unmentioned by Vidal. “He was a true patriot, a Constitution man,” Vidal claims. “And I was torn, my grandfather (the Democrat Senator Thomas Gore) had bought Oklahoma into the Union.” McVeigh claimed he had done it as a protest against tyrannical government.

14. An Excuse...
Following the disaster of the boooosh years...the economic messes, in specific, the rushpublican party power elite knew their brand was shit. They had to disconnect...find and excuse and the use it against Democrats and President Obama in specific. It began during the 2008 rushpublican primaries with the need to find a "real conservative". Next step was bringing in Caribou Barbie and a new "generation" of puppets not directly connected to the past and use Gramps McCain's loss as the disconnect from the past.

If you listen to a teabagger (which requires lots of sedation afterwards), none of today's problems existed prior to 2009 and if there were problems it was caused by boooosh who isn't a "real conservative". They never quite say what he was/is.

The teabaggers are the manifestation of the right wing media machine that took control of the right wing in the power vacuum and made it "cool" to be a rushpublican again...but with a twist. Dare I say it's similar to what I see on the left where someone will identify as a "liberal" or "progressive" over being a Democrat to criticize this President and to claim he's not a "true progressive".

The teabaggers will vanish if and when the rushpublicans retake the White House and can jetison the sheep's clothing and go back to their usual kleptocracy. Most the teabaggers will be left in the dust. Chumps.

21. not new
It is the latest name of a political faction.
This faction has been with us for a very long time.
Long ago, it was called "know nothings".
The recent history of this faction of far right conservatives appeared as: the John Birch Socoety and McCarthy, Goldwater, the Moral Majority.
Before WW2, "America First" and Father Caughlin.

Hard or fraught times tens to be a time for it to come up.
