"I believe the abbreviation is S T F U!"

That's approximately what I thought when I read that memo too.

if you criticize the President and do not agree with his policies then your vote is not needed.

6. I have to guess since this seems to be an administration pet word
But "Firedoglake" + "Teabagger" = "Firebagger" was my first thought

If so, Obama is equating us on the Left with the extremist nutbars on the Right.

I didn't know that protesting wars, bailouts and austerity programs were something we shared with the Teabaggers?

subject - Urban Dictionary - Firebagger was published

Thanks for your definition of Firebagger!

Editors reviewed your entry and have decided to publish it on urbandictionary.com.

It should appear on this page in the next few days

Urban Dictionary

----See the last comment on the definition to be published on urban dictionary

"Me play too.

Firebagger: A term of derision used (usually on blogs) by supporters of U.S. President Barack Obama in arguments with people who criticize Obama and other Democrats from the political left. The term is a conflation of "Teabagger" the term of derision used to describe right wing Tea Party activists and Firedoglake, a left-leaning political blogging community founded by Jane Hamsher.

OT, I will see you on the field of Urbandictionary honor."

New Definition in Urban Dictionary: FIREBAGGER
http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/blogs/m/a/mare_nostrum/2010/05/new-definition-in-urban-dictio.php

One of the definitions that has been posted a few times from the urban dictionary was written by a poster on TPM in May 2010. Anyone can write a definition and submit it for publication and that is exactly what was done with the term firebagger.

Here is the second definition, written by another poster, but more accurate IMO.

"A term of derision used (usually on blogs) by supporters of U.S. President Barack Obama in arguments with people who criticize Obama and other Democrats from the political left. The term is a conflation of "Teabagger" the term of derision used to describe right wing Tea Party activists and Firedoglake, a left-leaning political blogging community founded by Jane Hamsher."

That's going to have political costs, too, because it is divisive. Sometimes you have to learn how to accept criticism and attempt to make things better.

17. ??? Who are you talking about in this sentence ...
"Yep, but how quickly they forget. That's going to have political costs, too, because it is divisive. Sometimes you have to learn how to accept criticism and attempt to make things better."

...the rest of your reply is just strange and that is all I'll say about that.

It is divisive for the administration to refer to the "professional left" and "fucking retards" just as it is for Sandoval to email the blog post saying Krugman is a political rookie and talk about the Firebagger Lefty blogosphere.

They should learn to take criticism instead of calling other people names and Olbermann is right, this does not constructive.

Chief of Staff Draws Fire From Left as Obama Falters
By PETER WALLSTEN

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703808904575025030384695158.html?mod=WSJ_latestheadlines#printMode

"...The friction was laid bare in August when Mr. Emanuel showed up at a weekly strategy session featuring liberal groups and White House aides. Some attendees said they were planning to air ads attacking conservative Democrats who were balking at Mr. Obama's health-care overhaul.

"F—ing retarded," Mr. Emanuel scolded the group, according to several participants.
He warned them not to alienate lawmakers whose votes would be needed on health care and other top legislative items.

The antipathy reflects deep dissatisfaction on the Democratic left with Mr. Obama's first year in office, and represents a fracturing of the relationship between the president and the political base that mobilized to elect him. A little more than one year ago, Mr. Obama's victory led some to predict an era of Democratic dominance.

After Calling Liberal Activists "Retarded," Rahm To Meet With Disabled Rights Activists Wednesday

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2010/02/after-calling-liberal-activists-retarded-rahm-to-meet-with-disabled-rights-activists-wednesday.html

"The Special Olympics announced Tuesday evening that members of the disabilities rights community will meet Wednesday afternoon with White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, after the fiery Chicagoan admitted to having referred to some liberal activists as "f---ing retarded."

Emanuel was quoted in the Wall Street Journal last week making the comment in an August meeting with some liberal activists who were threatening to run TV ads against conservative Democrats hesitant to embrace President Obama's approach to health care reform.

After the Journal story was published, Emanuel called Special Olympics Chairman and CEO Timothy Shriver to apologize.

Shriver and four othe advocates for the disabled community will meet with Emanuel at the White House at 2:00 PM tomorrow, Wednesday February 3, 2010..."

23. I believe at the very least Coburn should be rebuked for implying that he would shoot or threaten
his fellow elected Senators with a gun, if they didn't agree with his views, he has disgraced the Senate aka: (world's most deliberative body,) and shown total disrespect for the workings of our democratic republic.

31. Does Obama camp see upside in pissing off the left?
I think Olbermann agrees with the title of this article, that is my interpretation.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/post/does-obama-camp-see-upside-in-pissing-off-the-left/2011/03/03/gIQAFfcoLJ_blog.html

By Greg Sargent

"The story exploding on the left right now is that the Obama campaign’s state director in New Mexico sent out an email containing a blog post mocking Paul Krugman and the “firebagger liberal blogosphere”for criticizing the debt ceiling deal negotiated by the White House. Liberal bloggers are asking whether this is the latest sign that the Obama team sees percentage in dumping on the left — or “hippie punching,” as the blogospheric parlance has it.

The Obama official, Ray Sandoval, circulated the email just after the debt ceiling deal passed Congress. Sandoval’s email included a blog post that hammered lefty critics for deriding the deal as a surrender, deriding Krugman as a “political rookie” and decrying critics for “pure, fanatic, indomitable hysteria.”

The term “firebagger” appears to be a reference to Firedoglake, whose bloggers frequently hammer the White House for giving too much ground to Republicans...

...But the lefty critique goes considerably further than this. It’s an argument with Obama’s team about tactics and strategy, about what might be attainable if he handled these negotiations differently..."
