I want more jobs now!!
But we need a better business atmosphere before that will happen.

Has anyone here ran a business and knows what it really takes?

22. No one here is anti-business
However, most if not all of us are anti-big-corporations-who-don't-give-a-rat's-ass-about-anything-beyond-profits.

Well "BigGovtFan", I hate to disappoint you on your field trip to DU, so...

1. We need mandatory abortions for all first pregnancies.

2. Everyone is going to have to choose to be gay.

3. Christianity should be outlawed.

4. Minimum wage should be a million dollars a year.

5. Welfare should be a billion dollars a year, with no questions asked.

6. Death panels - lots and lots of death panels.

Ummm... Let's see, did I miss anything?

As a concession, we will eliminate the Martin Luther King holiday. Instead, every OTHER day will be a federal holiday, and MLK day will be the ONLY day out of the year that anybody has to work.

Deal?

The atmosphere we have now is working out well for them. For the rest of us, not so much.

They are not sensitive to 'atmospheres' or nonsensical crap like that. You talk about businesses like they are helpless toddlers that need their diapers changed to stay alive.

Regulation is NOT bad. Stupid regulation, OK. That's debatable.

The OMFGWTFBBQ meme of "government is bad" and "all regulation is bad" is utter nonsense.

and YES I'M A CAPITALIST ! lol

23. Yep. More than one. What it takes is fascism butting out.
It's not hard to run a business. Don't repeatedly do stupid things and you're ninety percent there - you don't have to be great. Hell, you don't even have to be that competent, really. There's plenty of people who will accept a mediocre, middle-of-the-road job or product, as long as it does its job. If you WANT to be high-end, of course you can. If you're good enough at something. Most of us aren't.

For me, a better business environment would be one with consistent, stable, high environmental and labor standards, so that my concern was running a business and not exploiting slaves. There would be few or no laws written by large corporations giving them unreasonable advantages over others. There would be regulations that were rational enough that I could predict with reasonable success what they are likely to say without having to have lawyers read every word of every one before even thinking about something new. It would be clear which government agency was responsible for what issue. The government would view American business as something of profound strategic value to the country, and it wouldn't allow globalists to devalue or damage it.

Basically, I want the government to keep gangsters, monopolists, protection rackets (including intellectual property), and financial manipulators off my back so I can serve my customers. Everything else I can handle, or I can find people to handle.

On the other hand, there's different kinds of people, and some of them prefer a really different kind of business, one that has little respect for the notion of consent, and views it as appropriate and normal for murderous hostility to be embedded in business relationships. I can't really imagine a country where they and I could conduct business at the same time.

25. I find my business takes a mastery of basic grammar

I am one of those people who voted for Obama with the understanding my taxes would increase, and he hasn't done it yet.

Of course, if they were increased by a LOT, I'd probably think about hiring another employee in order to bring my deductions up.

28. I'm not Scrooge McDuck...

And I don't really have much work that another employee could do.

But if tax rates went into something truly onerous, which isn't going to happen in any scenario, I'd hire someone to do nothing just to get under the line.

Heck, I'd hook up my computer to a bicycle generator and have them pedal it for six hours a day if I had to.

Instead, I guess I'll just have to donate to Democratic candidates in elections I care about. Who is running against Virginia Foxx this time around?

26. Been self-employed most of my life, have owned and managed 2 businesses.
Most all my democratic liberal friends are business owners.

WE know the differences between gross and net incomes, for instance. 'Taxes' never stopped anybody I know from growing a business since investments into a business are deductible.

35. The question that must be asked is
has the OP run a business? I have and I know what it takes to do so, one suspects by the OP's posting that perhaps they may not, but just guessin'. They do have those talking points down pretty well, but that is just an opinion.
