Need some good vibes for my son tomorrow.

His crohn's disease is acting up in a bad way. He went to Duke for cat scans Friday and we are leaving in the morning for another round of a endoscopy and colonoscopy. He has been put on one of the stronger medicines but it hasn't helped recently.

13. good luck. my niece has crohn's. when he she was

25 she lost 6 inches of her small intestine. last week she had her gallbladder removed and today she was back in the hospital. they don't know if something went wrong with the surgery or her crohn's is acting up. she's only 30.

has he been on remicade?

it is very difficult but there have been great improvements there is always hope

btw my son was doing good on remicade then suddenly got worse now on humira and 6mp and is doing VERY well sometimes a simple change of meds is all that is needed

Crohn's also. I've read that colodial silver helps this condition but I can't really attest to that. I had a little bout with fissures in the groin area and after I started taking colodial silver it went away and never came back. I don't know it it will work for your son, but like someone said "it can't hurt". Best of luck to you and your son.

70. Has he tried the biologics (Remicade) yet. My wife had symptoms

which were intractable for almost 2 years. Prednisone was useless, as were the other drugs such as Asacol, Imuran, etc. But once she finally got started with Remicade she began to improve rapidly and today is pretty much symptom free.(BTW, Humira is another Biologic which is extraordinarily good for Chrons). But please don't make the same mistake we did - we spent way too long with Gastroenterologists (and this at a top-notch University Medical Center!!) who were just way too conservative with treatment and weren't at all interested in or concerned about the pain and suffering the patient was having with a drug regimen which just didn't work. The moral of our story: If you're not getting results, insist on getting put on the biologics, or find another Dr. who will put him on them. Good luck. He CAN get a handle on this nasty disease!!! All good vibes to him and you!!!

I, and several blood relatives, sort of know your pain. We all have celiacs. It's been a nightmare trying to get diagnosed (I was told I had IBS). I haven't had the endoscopy, but my family members have. My celiacs is less problematic than theirs.
